Meet Nicholas Lamoureux: Co-Founder & COO of Mid 8 Media

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicholas Lamoureux.

Nicholas, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
It’s been an exciting ride the last three years but here I am today with the official launch of Mid 8 Media, and I am thrilled.

I have always had an interest in media and content. Three years ago, one of my best friends and I started a local Arizona entertainment company, OCTIV Entertainment. As the co-founder, I wore many hats, however, the one that interested me the most was always our media department and the content that we were pushing out.

Learning how to market a brand from the ground up was something I quickly found myself learning and getting better at, and as the company grew, I was able to grow with it.

I have a pretty unique background in media and content as well. I was a graduate of the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communications at Arizona State University where I focused on sports broadcasting. Through my time there and learning even more with OCTIV, I have found myself with some useful skills that can be applied to almost any brand.

I’ve been fortunate enough to continue learning through the projects that I am involved with, some of which include working for the Arizona Diamondbacks for DBTV and ASU with their in-game video productions.

My goal however has and will continue to be able to work for myself in the future, and not have to “work for the man.”

I believe in letting creatives focus on their art and passion to become the best versions of themselves that they can be, without handling the stresses of marketing their brands.

Through Mid 8 Media, I hope to be able to help artists and brands reach their ultimate successes, while still being involved with the electronic music industry, something that I love and admire dearly.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road to get to this point was not as paved as I would have envisioned, but where we are at now we are in a very good spot. I never imagined getting into brand management but it is something that I have a lot of interest in and am very happy where I am currently.

The three years I spent growing in the music industry is where the struggles really came. I was still learning what it was all about, what was important to people and where I could provide value to others in the same industry.

Learning is never easy and it takes a lot of trial and error to really get to a place where you feel comfortable in what you are doing, but I can say now that Mid 8 Media has a very talented group of individuals involved with this project.

Please tell us about Co-Founder & COO of Mid 8 Media.
My official role at Mid 8 Media is the Co-Founder and COO. This consists of having a hand in almost every aspect of the business. I head up our sales department as well as operations within the company. I would consider myself to be one of the “point guards,” if you will.

My role is to make sure that everyone comes together and that things are getting done while also doing client outreach and bringing on new brands to work with.

Mid 8 Media uses our expertise in today’s evolving social media platforms to market and achieve growth in personal brand awareness within the entertainment industry. Our Purpose is to unite all creatives through collaboration by providing cost-effective and quality content while alleviating the stress of dedicating time to marketing.

Through a simple consultation, we curate a unique and personalized brand management action plan to increase awareness and grow your following.

Through our personalized “BMAPs” (brand management action plans) and cost-effective “BMAP’s,” we enhance and develop our client’s branding and marketing portfolios by creating quality content and leveraging state of the art technologies & strategies.

What I am most proud of with Mid 8 Media is the people involved. It may sound cliche but the people involved have been some of the most talented and genuine persons that I have had a pleasure of meeting. I have watched each of the individuals on the team grow in their own crafts over the last few years and that to me is the most exciting part about this; that we all have such amazing talents and we all continue to grow and learn.

On the business side of things, I am very proud of the different unique opportunities we will be able to provide our clients. which include but not limited to radio air time on 24 stations across the globe, video and photo shoots as well as social media management for all clients.

What sets us apart from other companies is that each person on our team has experience in this industry that ranges from 2 to 10 years, and we have come from other backgrounds that allow us to bring rare opportunities and knowledge to our clients that they will not be able to find anywhere else.

Any predictions for the industry over the next few years?
It’s inevitable that there will be shifts in any industry so the biggest challenge is going to be staying on top of the trends. Luckily, you can start to notice these things when you have a large network to base your findings, and our team is quite connected within.

Another part of this is the willingness to learn and to change with the trends. If you’re not constantly learning about your craft, then you will fall behind.

I can’t speak to specific changes for 5-10 years from now, but I can say that in the last five years the electronic music scene has grown rapidly and I anticipate that to continue to scale.
