Meet Natalie Welson of Visionary Life Design in Tempe

Today we’d like to introduce you to Natalie Welson.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Natalie. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
When I was younger, I wanted to be a motivational speaker. The only thing that really kept me from committing to this was that I wasn’t entirely sure what it was that I wanted to motivate people to do! It seemed as though I couldn’t pinpoint it, but I knew deep within myself that there was a calling I had to answer.

I experienced some pretty heavy traumatic events over the course of a few years and had to work extremely hard to pull myself out of the darkness I had plunged into. I remember reading a quote by Edward Lewis, “We define ourselves by the best that is in us, not the word that has been done to us,” and it struck me right in the heart.

Perhaps some of you remember a common icebreaker, where you were asked to describe who you are without using your name. Through my struggles, traumas and downfalls, as well as the many blessings life has graciously gifted me, such as motherhood, community and healing, I have realized that is what I am committed, and honored, to do: to assist others in remembering who they truly are, and to no longer cling to the false identities that their traumas, wounds, circumstances, etc., have made them believe they are.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Not exactly smooth, but definitely rewarding. Personally, I find this realm of work infinitely interesting because it’s one of the very few that the practitioner has to experience the client’s condition first hand before assisting anyone else. Doctors don’t have to experience the exact conditions or ailments as their patients as a prerequisite for treating them. But the healing arts comes from just that: embarking on the endless process of knowing one’s self at the core, healing your Self by being able to sit with and question your beliefs, your conditioning, your pain— ultimately, the human condition— and transmuting it into a higher expression of yourself. We are able to guide and hold space for you because we ARE you. We have been in a similar darkness. So, smooth? No. But would I trade it for anything? Absolutely not.

Please tell us about Visionary Life Design.
My business, Visionary Life Design, is just me! I’m a certified hypnotherapist and an intuitive healing artist. I use hypnosis to gently assist in tracing the roots to many different issues that are held deep in the subconscious. Once they are identified, we can extract them, removing all blocks that may be preventing someone from reaching their full potential. Using a variety of different tools, we introduce new skills and behaviors that support the self-realization of fulfillment in a way that feels right for each individual client.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I once read that all situations are neutral, and the meaning is what we attach to them. Good/bad luck just don’t really resonate with me. I’m a firm believer that what’s meant for us will never pass us by. If I experience “bad luck,” I use that as an opportunity to check what type of energy I’ve been sending out. You get what you give, so if the world is throwing you junk, what did you give it to throw?
