Meet Nantas Sodano of Casa Mia – CM2 Pizzeria & Bakeshop

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nantas Sodano.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Nantas. So, let’s start at the beginning, and we can move on from there.
We are a family owned and operated business that moved to America from Italy in the mid ’90s and opened our first business in 1997 then launched Casa Mia in 1999, and after a great success we decided to add CM2 Pizzeria & Bakeshop to give our neighborhood some more quality variety, and it has proven again to be successful, thank god. 🙂

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It’s tough being in a family business where there are a lot of strong personalities however the benefit of having this type of business helps when times are tough, when the recession hit in 2008 we all had to roll up our sleeves and make some sacrifices, I think that helped us overcome a hurdle that many weren’t fortunate enough to overcome.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Casa Mia – CM2 Pizzeria & Bakeshop – what should we know?
We have been over the course of twenty years recognized as the standard for Italian cuisine in Arizona, all of our food is organic and top quality, since we basically live in our business we eat the food as well, and we are always looking for top quality, our customers have recognized that as well.

We are a destination restaurant, and people drive from all over the valley sometimes three to four times a week to dine with us, we have a great neighborhood that supports us as well.

What sets us apart perhaps is the fact that we make everyone feel at home since Casa Mia means literally my house. Except for my sister she makes everyone feel uncomfortable maybe that’s part of the charm as well.

What do you love about our city and what do you dislike?
Phoenix has given our family a great opportunity to shine, apart from the hot summers there isn’t much to dislike, we live in a beautiful city.
