Today we’d like to introduce you to Mych’Iayla Alexander.
Hi Mych’Iayla, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My name is Mych’Iayla Alexander. I was born and raised in Rockford, IL, moving to Brown Deer, WI in my early teenage years. I have a dual Bachelor Degree in Psychology and Spanish and a Masters Degree in Professional Counseling. I am a Certified School Counselor, Certified Birth and Bereavement Doula (CBBD), License Associate Counselor (LAC; LPC application sitting at the board for approval 🎉) and Perinatal Mental Health Certified Professional (PMH-C). I have been interviewed, and featured, to speak about my fertility, birthing and professional journeys by several amazing people/organizations such as: Sisters in Loss Podcast, Sister in Loss YouTube Channel, WombPrep, Get Up, Girl Up Radio Show, Coming from the Heart and Empower 2 Heal.
I have many titles. Among them are wife, mother, bonus mother, daughter, sister, friend, associate pastor, cousin, niece, aunt, teacher, author, therapist, and I was once called INFERTILE. I was also labeled with PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome). I struggled with infertility for years (7 all together) and I have experienced four total losses.
One day when I was about 6 months pregnant, I was in prayer. While in prayer, the Lord gave me this name, “The Womb Keeper.” He told me that I needed to do what I was born to do, what He had called me to, and that there was purpose in all that I had gone through. My coach, at that time, sang over me saying that I would “lay hands on the ladies and they would have babies.”
Ever since that time, I have dedicated myself to making sure that ladies, and gentlemen, know that there is hope in infertility. On December 4th, 2017 I welcomed my #RainbowBaby, Worshyp. On April 2nd, 2019 I welcomed another baby girl, Harmoni. On January 6, 2022 we welcomed the last piece to our family puzzle, Zerrel; showing that our pain has purpose, yet again.
This is a small piece of my journey that led to my purpose. This is my “why?” This is the reason for #TheWombKeeper, LLC.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Absolutely NOT! lol There were so many struggles. I started. I stopped. Losses, doubt, fear, pregnancy complications, sickness, NICU stay for my youngest, surgeries…but I let my faith, Jesus AND my husband carry me! We are gearing up for a relaunch in 2026. Stay tuned!
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
