Meet Morgan Ann of IamSimplyMorgan in Scottsdale

Today we’d like to introduce you to Morgan Ann.

Morgan, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started posting videos on my YouTube channel in February 2014 during my freshman year of college. I’ve always had a love for fashion, videography and beauty. I wanted to be able to be creative with all three of the things that I was passionate about. I decided to start making videos in my college dorm room and within the first year gain over 1,000 subscribers and had at least 75,000 video views. As my channel grew, I was able to work with a bunch of brands such as Fashion Nova, Savage X Fenty, EvaNYCHair, Shein, Zaful, IPSY and many more. I’ve had the opportunity to attend events as a creator which has allowed me to network with other creators and brands. Now 5 years later, I have over 40,000 subscribers on YouTube and 2.5 million video views. I was also able to grow my brand to other platforms as well. My Instagram account has over 8,000 followers and I been able to work with brands through that as well. Most of the posts I create on Instagram are related to fashion, beauty, lifestyle, and sometimes fitness.

Has it been a smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road. I’ve had some ups and downs with being consistent and keeping my numbers up. Social Media is consistently changing so you have to keep up with it.

We’d love to hear more about your work.
I named brand (company) IamSimplyMorgan because I wanted to create a brand that was about me not being afraid to be myself and being able to help give people ideas to help achieve their goals while enjoying my content. I do everything for my company like editing, marketing, filming, emails, scheduling, and so much more. I’m most proud of the company because I’m able to do what I love and make a career out of it. The thing that sets me apart from others is my personality. I’m a bubbly and happy person offline and my audience sees it in my video.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
I’m able to do my business anywhere but I have to travel to either LA or New York City for the bigger events. This year was the first year I did some local work with companies in Arizona. I lived in Orange County during my childhood which is a 45 minute drive from LA. I’m personally not trying to move back there but never say never. If someone wants to start a YouTube channel then they should definitely do it. You do not have to live in a major city to have a youtube channel.
