Today we’d like to introduce you to Montae Harris.
Hi Montae, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Growing up, my dream was always to make it to the NBA. But once I realized that wasn’t in the cards, I knew I had to pivot. I was grateful for the chance to play professionally overseas in Europe, but after my last injury, it was time to figure out what was next. That’s when I started diving into podcasts, learning the game, studying the craft and eventually launched my own here in Arizona. We’re still building, but the support, networking, and amazing guests we’ve connected with have helped us gain some strong momentum.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Haha, the road’s never smooth. You hear a lot of no’s before the yes’s come in. But the more this grows, the more grateful I am because it’s all been built from the ground up. No handouts. I’ve learned that no matter what people think, you’ve got to keep pushing and never let anyone define your success. One thing I’ve also picked up: trust carefully. Disappointment usually comes from expecting too much from the wrong people. Early on, I was a bit green in the industry, thinking everyone had good intentions but that’s not always the case. Now, I move differently. I pay attention and learn from every situation and connection.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I run a podcast called QMO Podcast, where we focus on storytelling. A lot of people know me through the brand and the work we’ve put in. What really sets us apart is the depth of our conversations it’s not just entertaining, it’s meaningful. We give our guests space to be real, to vent, and to speak their truth. I genuinely enjoy connecting with people, and I’m proud of how far we’ve come. We’ve grown to over 2,000 subscribers on YouTube in a short time and recently became part of the YouTube Partner Program. It’s a blessing to have such a solid team behind the vision.
Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
Over the next five years, my goal is to build one of the top media platforms in Arizona a true voice for the state. We want to spotlight local talent, create real opportunities, and give artists and creators a stage to share their gifts with the world.
