Meet Molly Beresford

Today we’d like to introduce you to Molly Beresford.

Hi Molly, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My creative roots began to flourish while working in San Francisco as a floral designer and visual display artist for Macy’s. In the early 90s, I moved back to Phoenix to start my own floral design business. Wanting to further develop my craft, I went back to school to receive my Interior Design Degree and opened my own interior design practice in 2014. We are dedicated to creating beautiful and functional spaces for living, working, and leisure. Our design inspiration comes from extensive travel, and a love of nature, but most importantly is a reflection of our client’s personal style and identity.

Paying attention to financial details and budgets comes easily having received my undergraduate degree in Economics. This assures our clients that Beresford Designs are always conscientious and financially astute in meeting their design goals. Working alongside our team of architects, contractors, artisans, and landscapers- I have delivered a number of projects throughout Arizona, as well as been recognized by my peers with The American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) Design Excellence Award.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Starting my business led to many long hours as I developed and grew the business.

After about six months I was able to add my first employee, who is still with me today. We have been fortunate as a firm to not have to advertise and receive all of our business on a referral basis. Some of the biggest struggles have been in recent years with the shortages in labor and major shipping delays.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
We are an interior design firm specializing primarily in residential remodeling, and some commercial remodeling.

We are known for our ability to transform an existing space by creating new floor plans that help our clients achieve maximum functionality. We believe form and function should go hand in hand.

We solve the problems for our clients, so their newly designed spaces are both highly functional and aesthetically pleasing. We have a unique ability to listen to our client’s needs and ideas to deliver them a new space beyond where they imagined. I’m very pleased to have a referral-only business, this is a true testament to our client’s satisfaction and the reputation I have built working in this community for the past 10 years.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
The surrounding desert in the Scottsdale area is amazing.

The variation in light that we have here highlights the beauty of the desert. Scottsdale has amazing public arts, even the bus stops are beautiful. My least favorite thing about Scottsdale is July – it’s a dry heat, but it is still just hot!
