Meet Milan Boyer

Today we’d like to introduce you to Milan Boyer.

Milan, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I had been working as a freelance video production professional for the past seven years on and off for various productions, companies, and projects. After going through the bumpy road of passion to heartbreak being a freelance professional, I decided after gaining a lot of experience and learning valuable skills from colleagues and managers to step out on my own and start my own production company. A dream I had always had since college that quickly became a reality with the accessibility of the industry today. Including affordable equipment and free marketing on social media. Once I got my equipment, I hit the ground running quickly, realizing in such a saturated marketplace that being yourself is the best way to stand out and to target my work on my aesthetic to attract the right clients for Milan Arielle Productions. Where I intentionally and deliberately focus on candid event filmmaking, small business branded video content, holistic/wellness video content with an emphasis on empowering women filmmakers.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
As any entrepreneur knows, there is no smooth road to success and there will always be struggles along the way no matter what. I think the key is having patience and being flexible enough to create solutions on the fly because no matter how much you plan, things will never go the way you had intended. Some of the struggles I have incurred with Milan Arielle Productions include trying not to be scammed by “potential clients” through the internet, staying consistent with content to promote my business further, as well as making myself vulnerable to the world to encourage myself and the company. Which can be daunting as a modest introvert!

Milan Arielle Productions – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
At Milan Arielle Productions. I, Milan I am the owner and main video operator. It is a small minimalist operation that is fueled by the passion of telling one’s story through filmmaking. I love collaborating with clients to create their vision as well as being the decision-maker on all things creative. As mentioned previously, I default my focus on my aesthetic to attract clients looking for a similar style where I focus on creating an intentional and personalized focus on producing candid event filmmaking which includes weddings from all types of cultures, birthday parties and other celebrations. As well as being an aide for small businesses to help create branded video content to promote their business further. This includes a huge emphasis on holistic/ wellness professionals to use video as a light that can reach others. What I am most proud of as a company is being a resource for small businesses to help create their vision and do so on a slim budget, cause we are all in this together. I am also proud to be a safe space for female filmmakers to find content that caters to our demographic of artists that have been lost in the shuffle for so long and I will continue to do so.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
The proudest moment of my career so far was being recognized by female filmmaker pioneer Neema Barnette.
