Meet Mikenzi DuPree of S.T.I.L.L. She Lives in Chandler

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mikenzi DuPree.

Mikenzi is an Indigenous woman of the Navajo, Pueblo & Spanish Indigenous tribes. She is the founder & creator of S.T.I.L.L. She Lives. STILL is an acronym which stands for;

S (Standing)
T (Triumphantly)
I (Indigenous)
L (Learning)
L (Loving)
She Lives.

Basically means women are badass!

SSL is an inclusive brand which strives to bring awareness to the hardships faced by indigenous women both on and off reservations. S.T.I.L.L. She Lives offers handcrafted clothing and accessories that fuse both modern and traditional styles, which create one-of-a-kind products. These pieces are rooted in the resiliency of the women whom they were inspired by and stand to highlight the power of the matriarchy often lost in mainstream society.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Owning and building a small business from the ground up is challenging. What is even harder is getting to a pivotal point in your business and having your work and ideas replicated. Not all roads were smooth, and I’ve had to learn how to adapt and grow in the small business world.

Each product is designed and handcrafted by me. S.T.I.L.L. She Lives Specializes in multicultural inspired, hardship driven, one of a kind wearable art. Through that, my products are able to connect, resonate and empower my supporters.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
The honesty and authenticity behind the story of the brand is what makes it thrive. Each product tells a significant story of those who positively impacted my life at some point. To honor those who influenced me, I decided to name certain products after them. During the creative process, these products take on some of the same characteristics as the influencers.
