Today we’d like to introduce you to Mike Roots.

Mike, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I started making music at a young age. My older brother and cousin always made music when I was growing up so I think I took after that. I grew up in Atlanta, Georgia for the majority of my life and being out there has definitely played a big role in my music. I moved to AZ in 2015 of June, my junior year of high school and I met my three main producers at school and ever since then we’ve been making music heavily. Right now I’m working on more content for the masses so when I release music more and more it will not stop!

Has it been a smooth road?
There have definitely been some struggles throughout. I thought people weren’t gonna listen to my music like that so I didn’t release certain tracks. People stopped working with me because of things that happened between them and people I associate with and lost a lot of music but I’m back on it.

Please tell us more about your music, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
I am a rapper, I specialize in making music I enjoy and others enjoy. I’m known for all types of music, I can’t be put in a box. I get set apart from others because I’m so versatile and not making the same stuff other “rappers” are making out here and I’m not doing this just because it’s a trend, I really have been rapping and really enjoy what I do.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
In five to ten years there’s gonna be a lot of different genres, sounds and artists. I can’t really predict what’s gonna happen because it’s so unpredictable but from the trends I’ve seen now, it seems as if music is gonna be on top of the “pop culture pyramid”.
