Meet Mike Mattingly

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mike Mattingly.

Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
I started out my music career as a drummer playing in cover bands from age 12. I became a songwriter in my early 20s and have been working in the music business my entire life. Helping other artists achieve their dreams of recording and sharing their music is my passion.

Please tell us about your art.
As an artist, I write music that highlights the human condition and the struggles and triumphs that most people face. My music is an expression of who I am, where I came from and where I am going.

What do you think is the biggest challenge facing artists today?
The biggest challenge facing artists today is the over saturation of social media. We’ve become just another meatball in the sauce seeking our 15 minutes of fame or hopes of going viral. Finding ways to make money with music has become as much an art form as the creation of music itself. Many music artists realize they are in the clothing business as much as the music business and if you happen to write a song that touches people, they might buy a shirt.
