Meet Mik Hrabczuk

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mik Hrabczuk.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Mik. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
At the time I was training with our manager, Shane Anderson, for my second pursuit of being a college/professional athlete when he introduced me the sport of Olympic weightlifting. I did not make it in basketball and then team handball because of my height. Something I can’t control, but fully understand why you would want taller players. After not making the USA handball team, Shane suggested I give Olympic Weightlifting a shot. A sport where being short actually has advantages. After some time training for that, I headed back to basketball to play some pick up. Felt more athletic than I ever had an actually grabbed the rim for the first time. That day my mind was set. I was going to dunk. Something I had only dreamed of and never actually believed that it could happen. After getting my first dunk, I knew this is what I’ll be doing for the rest of my life. Doing everything I can to help kids/athletes/adults break through the limits that were placed on them. To help them achieve only the things they have dreamed of, no matter what everyone else has told them. To prove yourself for yourself. Now, I am in my 5th year at the gym Fast and could not be happier!

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It has been an absolute roller coaster! So many highs and lows, but that is the best part! Time management, health, focus, and patience were so hard to stay on top of. It took a while to learn, but I finally figured out about a year or so in, that you have to sacrifice. You have to give a little to get a little. As my favorite saying goes, you get what you give!

Please tell us about what you do.
I specialize in sports performance, but love to working with anyone that wants to work hard! I think my favorite part of the gym is that we have people of all ages, sizes, levels of athleticism and training experience, but everyone is treated as equal by not only our staff but the actual people training. There are times where we will have a professional basketball player working out next to a 60-year-old and they both motivate each other! It does not matter where you are at in our gym, but where you are going! Determination is a standard at the gym! I think that’s what separates us. Everyone is working towards some goal and the community feeling of the gym is one of a kind!

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
Right now, I’m really looking forward to expanding to a bigger space! I love the crew I work with and owe them everything! They work just as hard, if not harder than me and I think together we can really do something special. Plus, I owe them the credit of teaching me! Without them, my knowledge of training would be very minimal. It has always been a dream of mine to have my own brand. Whether that means having my own gym or not, I’m not really too sure. To be honest, I’m not looking too far down the line. I’m really just focused on perfecting my craft and building my name. When opportunities arise, I’ll seize them, but until then, I’ll do everything I can to get better at my passion and stay ready!
