Meet Michelle Seymour of Michelle Seymour Homes, brokered by eXp Realty

Today we’d like to introduce you to Michelle Seymour.

Hi Michelle, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Before becoming a REALTOR®, I spent 29 years working as a paralegal—so precision, contracts, and negotiation have always been second nature to me. But after nearly three decades in the legal world, I wanted something more personal—something that allowed me to connect with people on a deeper level.

In January 2022, I got my real estate license. My first year was humble—just four transactions—but it laid the foundation for everything that came next. In January 2023, I launched my YouTube channel, West Phoenix Life, with the goal of showing people what it’s really like to live in Arizona’s West Valley—I highlight communities like Verrado and Victory in Buckeye, and the surrounding cities like Goodyear, Peoria, Surprise, and Waddell. That year, I closed 12 transactions.

By 2024, things truly took off—30 transactions, Icon Agent with eXp Realty (placing me among the top 3% of agents nationwide at eXp), and recognized among the top 2% of all REALTORS® in Maricopa County and top 500 agents in the West Valley. Sixty percent of my business came directly from YouTube. And in 2025, I’ve had 25 closings year-to-date—well on track to becoming a two-time Icon Agent, all as a solo agent.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Entering real estate in 2022 meant stepping into one of the most unpredictable and competitive markets we’ve seen in years. As a new solo agent, I had to build everything from scratch—no team, no referrals, no name recognition.

Finding clients when you’re just starting out can feel like shouting into the void. On top of that, it’s expensive to get your business up and running—you’re investing in marketing, education, and systems before any income comes in. There were months early on when I questioned if I had made the right move.

And as an introvert, traditional networking didn’t come naturally to me. That’s where my YouTube channel became my lifeline. It allowed me to get in front of people—without actually getting in front of people. I could connect authentically through video, share my knowledge of the West Valley, and help relocation buyers across the country discover the lifestyle here.

Every lead that comes in now feels organic—because they’ve already seen who I am, how I work, and they trust me before we even speak.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
I’m a solo REALTOR® with eXp Realty, and I focus on the West Valley of Phoenix—my home community is Verrado/Victory in Buckeye, but I also cover Goodyear, Litchfield Park, Surprise, Peoria, and Waddell. I help people make confident decisions about moving to or within Arizona, whether they’re relocating, downsizing, or finding their forever home.

What I’m known for is combining deep local expertise with high-quality video marketing through my YouTube channel, West Phoenix Life. I created it to give buyers a true sense of what it feels like to live here—showing not just homes, but the lifestyle, the community, and the people who make this area so special. Sixty percent of my business now comes directly from YouTube, which has allowed me to build relationships and earn trust before ever meeting my clients in person.

Before real estate, I spent 29 years as a paralegal, so I bring that same level of precision, organization, and contract knowledge to every transaction. What sets me apart is that blend of professional expertise and personal connection—I simplify what can feel overwhelming and help clients feel completely supported every step of the way.

Brand-wise, I’m most proud that I’ve built all of this organically, as a solo agent, into one of the top 2% of businesses in Maricopa County. My brand stands for trust, education, and genuine connection. I want readers to know that I don’t just sell houses—I help people find “HOME” in the West Valley, and I treat every client’s move as if it were my own.

Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
I think most people picture risk-taking as something flashy or fearless—but for me, it’s looked more like quiet courage.

After nearly 30 years as a paralegal, I decided to completely start over in real estate. That was a massive risk. I left behind a stable career, a consistent income, and everything I knew to jump into something brand new—during one of the toughest markets we’ve seen. I had no guarantees, no client base, and I was investing in my business before I was really making anything back.

Then came my YouTube channel, West Phoenix Life. That was another leap of faith. I invested thousands into equipment and learning how to produce videos, not knowing if anyone would even watch them. And honestly, as an introvert, putting myself out there on camera was way outside my comfort zone.

But every one of those risks—financial, emotional, and personal—has paid off in ways I couldn’t have imagined. They pushed me to grow, to connect, and to build something that’s 100% mine. I’ve realized risk isn’t about being fearless—it’s about believing in yourself enough to take the next step, even when you don’t know how it’ll turn out.
