Meet Michelle Keil of Michelle Keil Coaching

Today we’d like to introduce you to Michelle Keil.

Hi Michelle, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
I have always been interested in people and always wanted to help. Many years ago, I recall watching a show where they interviewed a life coach, and I thought, “That’s what I want to be.” As a young mother with small kids at the time, I chose to put those things on hold. I felt, and still do feel, that my greatest contribution in the world is my children and family dynamic.

Through the years I have done many things to help my family financially, and also serve others in the community. I taught preschool in my home for nearly 20 years. I have been a photographer, florist, caterer, and office manager among other things, but still always felt drawn to something else.

As my kids have mostly grown up and have become more and more independent, I felt that draw to helping others in some form of counseling or coaching role. I have spent years working on my own personal development and know the benefits it has brought to my own life. I wanted to offer mentoring to others who were looking for the same development for themselves.

In 2020 I decided to become a certified life coach and received my certification through The Life Coach School. As a certified life and weight coach, I have been able to help people find the answers they are looking for; not because I have the answers. The answers lie within the client. I am merely a facilitator and teacher on the path for them. Using different tools along with mindfulness and awareness, together we look at where they presently are and where they would like to go. Then by anticipating some of the obstacles they might encounter we work on the challenges that might hold then back. This is the process I have personally used to complete big projects in my own life including losing 35 pounds.

I find it very satisfying when people choose what they want in life and work towards that goal. Currently, I am a coaching contractor working for The Life Coach School part-time, as well as creating my own private practice.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It hasn’t been a smooth road, but I like to think that when we are heading somewhere “new”, of course, the road hasn’t been paved yet. Knowing ahead of time that the road may be a little bumpy here and there is good to keep in mind.

Some of the struggles that I have encountered are merely because I am trying things I have never done before. For years I thought of myself as someone who was not a good business person. And although to some that may appear to be true, for me it is just a state of mind. When I determined that my business can look like whatever I wanted it to, those external expectations and rigid standards no longer mattered to me.

Some of the struggles are just a result of my independent streak and wanting to do things for myself…. creating a website, starting a blog, posting on social media… but that usually requires a learning curve. I enjoy the challenge of learning new skills so that may have made the process slower in some regards, but that’s okay by me.

I am continuing to learn how to be an entrepreneur and what owning and running my own business looks like. It has been an area of huge personal growth for me. Growth not only in the skills I am gaining but also in the person I am becoming along the way.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Michelle Keil Coaching LLC?
As a life coach, I am working with clients who are looking to up-level their present life. We do this in a 1:1 setting, either in person or virtually. We discuss areas where you feel you are struggling and what your ideal would be. We work together using different tools and exercises to gain clarity and formulate plans to work towards that ideal.

I focus my work mainly with women, particularly moms, who are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints using a faith-based component as well. I specialize in helping them to reconnect with themselves and their unique gifts and talents.

I help women facing the overwhelm of parenting, family, and multiple schedules, let go of the shame, people-pleasing, and perfectionism they place on themselves as women of faith, and create a life they love with intention and purpose.

I help them find their own answers for any problem, reach for any goal, and discover how to be more of themselves as they learn tools to use their own gifts to strengthen themselves emotionally, physically, intellectually, and spiritually.

In choosing to design their life and live into compassion and lessen the guilt and judgment, they can teach their families to do the same. They find the real “self” by showing up authentically for themselves and the ones they love.

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
Arizona has been our home for nearly 30 years now and we have lived in the same square mile for over 26 years. There is something for everyone here. We love all the local sports teams, and the wide variety of outdoor activities available. We have loved the schools our children have attended and felt that they helped prepare our children on so many levels to go out and be good citizens as well. We love the beautiful weather and scenery and don’t even really mind the hottest times of the year. 🙂 We find that there are so many people who are willing to serve in the community to make it better for everyone and know that working together we can do just that!
