Meet Michela Longo and Sean Allen of ProVinyl Solutions in Tempe

Today we’d like to introduce you to Michela Longo and Sean Allen.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Michela, Sean. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
We started this business a little over six years ago. Sean and I were on our second go round when we met. Sean had a business detailing high end cars and I was a former elementary art teacher, newly waiting tables while deciding what my next adventure was going to be. Both of us independent and creative with dreams we were chasing fell crazy in love. We make the perfect team and make up for each other’s strengths and weaknesses while sharing huge hearts. While detailing cars Sean ran into an opportunity to consider vinyl cut graphics as an add on service. He invested in a plotter and was cutting and weeding vinyl in his bedroom on a cardboard box. Doing more research he felt printing vinyl and having more versatility in the vinyl wrap business would be the way to go. He received a small loan from family to invest in the equipment he needed to start and found a small shop to get this dream in motion. I decided to sign on like sales and marketing.

Fortunately, I worked in a restaurant that was busy and Monday through Friday had a lot of contractors and business owners frequenting it. I would talk to clients asking them to give us a shot and I pulled a lot of business that way. They would be introduced to Sean and he would take over from there. Sean took one class met a graphic designer that was experienced in the business and took off from there. Sean is a natural craftsman who picked up quickly the skill of install. He’s a huge perfectionist so he refused to turn over anything short of perfect. Clients loved our pairing and appreciated our strong work ethic and always sticking to old school rules of the client is always right. Sean and I came from vastly different backgrounds but always shared the same morals and values. We are huge believers in what you put into something you get back. In the last six years, it’s gone from Sean and I starting in Sean’s bedroom to now a customized shop with four other employees sharing a vision. This shop is full of artists from design to install with our main focus always being the client and dialing into them to achieve whatever it is he or she is dreaming up. We are a mom and pop very boutique..ish …Our shop is very homey and warm..being our home away from home.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Well if it was smooth it would be no fun haha!! The huge learning experience and trial and error…When things got bumpy whether it be a piece of equipment was down to being down money Sean and I put our heads together and figured it out. That is one of the things I’m so in love with about Sean he is calm cool and collected and always finds the answer makes me feel safe. I’m client based bigger personality but I’m Italian and way passionate and he’s the calm to my storm

Please tell us about your business.
We are a vinyl wrap shop. We design, print and install vinyl vehicle wraps. Our bread and butter are commercial wraps. Designing wraps for businesses. We also do custom color change and design on personal vehicles. We customize with window tint, light tint, and powder coated rims. We design and install murals and signage for businesses or personal interests. If it’s a wrappable surface we can do it. I’m most proud of our hearts and work ethic making new clients that become our friends every day. I think what sets us apart from other wrap shops is, first of all, we don’t know other wrap shops and a lot of the stories that go with them good or bad so we are unbiased about this business. We treat everyone the way we want to be treated respecting the whole dynamic as equals nobody better or less than. Taking a personal interest in all who come through ProVinyl Solutions. We create a family feels amongst employees and clients. We enjoy every step of the way in this business we created and constantly learning something new every day.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
We define success by true happiness. Making differences in people’s lives including our own because life is truly about love and service the money will always follow.
