Meet Michaela Bell

Today we’d like to introduce you to Michaela Bell.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Michaela. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I started dancing at age three which truly lead me to a passion for movement. I danced professionally for nearly a decade, with one of the world’s largest entertainment corporations, The Walt Disney Company. I also performed on one of the most successful TV shows in the United States, GLEE. I have acquired extensive training in health and wellness, achieving certifications in both personal training and nutrition.

I have conquered a binge and restrictive eating disorder and have been able to share my journey and experience with clients who struggle with developing a healthy relationship with food. With my education in nutrition, I coach clients through the macro nutrition process by teaching balance and moderation with food as well as educating clients on food sources and nutrients that our bodies require.

I married my high school sweetheart who is a professional baseball player. With the high volume of travel that is required in baseball, I have worked to master how to eat well and exercise while away from home. I enjoy educating clients on how to sustain a healthy lifestyle with travel. I am also the founder of the MLB/MiLB Spring Training Workout Event for the wives and girlfriends of professional baseball in Arizona. With both mine and my husband’s professional careers, I know what it takes to live and breathe a healthy lifestyle to maintain top performance.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
As I mentioned earlier, I struggled with a binge and restrictive eating disorder. My body image was everything to me and my expectations for myself were unforgiving. This was a difficult path that took professional guidance, time to heal, and a mindset change of what my true purpose is here on earth. Our identity isn’t found in our physical appearance but is found deep within us. I want to serve others, share my faith, and teach others to find a healthy balance in life with all the different things we tend to juggle. My journey has made me relatable to my clients. Many of them struggle with the same standards and high expectations as well as their relationship with food. I truly believe it has made me a better coach and because of that, I am grateful.

We’d love to hear more about your work.
I train clients both online and in person. For in-person sessions, I do house calls in the Phoenix area. Many clients prefer to be trained in the comfort of their homes while exercising. I provide basic equipment for in-home training sessions. Although many clients have equipment or even an in-home gym, I incorporate those but it is not something that is required.

Through my online platform, the Michaela’s Motto App, I train clients all around the world. I develop both custom workouts for clients as well as workout subscriptions focused on toning and shredding body fat. The Michaela’s Motto App provides video tutorials with step-by-step descriptions for each exercise, a place to upload progress pictures and body stats to track your personal progress, and access to the MM client community group page.

Technology is not suitable for all clients so I make it easy leading some clients through workouts via live streaming. A quick connection with a link provided through email and you are set to get a great workout instructed by me as your trainer. My various offers are effective and efficient, providing clients with top results to reach and achieve their goals.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
I have to thank my friends and family who have been willing to teach me the business side of personal training. A great family friend of ours, Taylor Green, lead me to my passion for fitness. He taught me everything fitness, coaching me through my fitness journey, and encouraged me to get my coaching certifications. Another great friend, Chris Runyon, owner of Elite Fitness gym in Chandler, Arizona, has mentored me in business and coaching. I am thankful for the support of both the dance and baseball communities. My husband has been extremely supportive of my vision and I couldn’t be more grateful. My clients inspire me each day. That is, by far the best part of my job.
