Today we’d like to introduce you to Melissa Goodwin.
Melissa, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Our story was born out of desperation. My husband was suffering from debilitating, chronic back, and neck pain. This wasn’t new, he’d been living with pain for more than 20 years, but the longer it went on, the worse it got and the fewer mental and physical resources he had left to deal with it. He’d had three spinal fusions to fix the mechanics of his issues, but they did nothing to relieve his pain.
He’d tried every pain therapy known to man, including intensive physical therapy, cortisone injections, epidural steroid injections, acupuncture, nerve root blocks, and opioids. Some worked for a while, some not at all. The only way he could get through the day was to take medications like Lyrica, Gabapentin, Hydrocodone, and massive doses of Ibuprofin. These damaged his stomach and intestinal system and left him feeling depressed and hopeless. His life was very difficult, and therefore, so was mine.
At that point, it was suggested he try Acoustic Wave Pressure Therapy. Without any expectation of relief at all, he tried yet another new therapy, and our lives changed.
It didn’t take long before he began noticing a difference. It wasn’t dramatic at first, but the pain that was his everyday experience began to dissipate. Small victories like being able to tie his shoes or lay in bed without burning pain were BIG deals to us!
He got such good results with acoustic wave pressure therapy that we decided to purchase the device for his personal use. It didn’t take long before we realized that we had a new purpose in life. We gave up our family business and decided to open a clinic with our machine so that we could help others in pain. That’s how Wave Health and Pain Therapy was born.
My husband has come such a long way. He no longer requires any other pain treatments and takes no medication for pain stronger than Tylenol. Although the damage done to his spinal cord still limits his mobility a bit, we can live with that. He’s no longer burdened with the severe pain that was his normal for so many years. In my mind, that’s nothing short of a miracle.
Has it been a smooth road?
The road’s been fairly smooth; it’s just off the beaten path.
Our therapy, although it’s certified by the FDA as a Class One medical device (the safest there is), has three US Patents, and has been empirically studied, is not traditional “Western Medicine.” It’s sometimes difficult for people to open their minds to something that is more holistic and natural.
That’s why we offer the first treatment for free, so people can come in and experience the therapy and see what we’re all about.
We’re hoping that one-day insurance will cover the therapy. Until then, we keep our costs low so that we can get more people to take the detour off the surgery/big pharma highway and give our path a try.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Wave Health and Pain Therapy – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Low-pressure acoustic wave therapy is an effective treatment for acute or chronic pain and for improving general health. Our Medsonix device emits pressure waves at a very specific frequency. These waves penetrate the cells of the body, improving circulation, decreasing inflammation, boosting Nitric Oxide, strengthening cell mitochondria, and improving arterial elasticity. It carries three US Patents for blood disorders, circulatory disorders, and musculoskeletal tissue inflammatory disorders. Besides its effectiveness, the beauty in this therapy is in how easy it is for clients to use. To enjoy the benefits, one only has to sit near the device. It’s safe, painless, and there are no side effects or contraindications.
The thing that sets us apart is our experience with the success of the treatment and the transformative effect it had on our own lives. We don’t just sympathize with people in pain, we’ve lived it. We’ve found our purpose in life in helping others.
What are you striving for, what criteria or markers have you set as indicators of success?
For me, success can be defined by making a difference in someone’s life. Whether people come to us looking to improve their health or lessen their pain, we’re successful if our clients walk out the door feeling better than they did when they walked in. We connect with each client, understanding their perspective because we’ve been there, and we provide an effective and safe therapy that moves them closer toward their health goals.

Your experience with your husband sounds very similar to mine. I have tried all the medical procedures he underwent and I am currently trying the Egoscue method which so far is not having the results I have been praying for. I am wondering how long it was before your husband started to feel the impact of the wave therapy. I am also wondering if you have any studies you could recommend so that I can further educate myself.
