Meet Melanie Peralta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Melanie Peralta.

Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
I was raised by a single father who always encouraged me pursuing my passions, music in particular. With all of his love, support, and devotion, I had a successful singer/songwriter career straight out of high school. I moved to Atlanta then made my way to LA. After being in LA for about 2 years, I found out I was going to be a mother. I was 21 at the time. I moved back home to Arizona to raise my son and motherhood completely revolutionized my perspective about women and our roles in the world. I decided to create a supportive and nourishing community to aid and promote the expansion of an evolving woman.

I created my first women’s empowerment event and Woman 2 Womben was born. Two and a half years of sisterhood, personal evolution, and many growth inspiring events later and we are building bigger, bolder, and wiser as a collective. Through Woman 2 Womben, I became a public speaker, mentor and mindset coach on how to reprogram the mind. I have now weaved singing and songwriting back into my work by creating what I call, “Moving Mantras,” intention filled melodic mantras used for subconscious mind reprogramming. I am a creator to the core. I live to bring great ideas to life that serve and contribute to others. This is who I am and this is what I do.

Please tell us about your art.
Being a singer/songwriter and mindset coach, since creating “Moving Mantras,” I like to refer to myself as a “Transformation Artist.” I write short songs infused with very specific intentions and messages to reprogram the mind and alter a person’s state of being. Music automatically programs the mind through repetition of lyrical content and emotional connection. So, instead of filling ourselves up with other people’s ideas, experiences and mindsets, Moving Mantras are a tool to get more intentional with what we’re feeding our hearts and minds. They are a tool to help plant new seeds of thought, feeling, and emotions that are empowering, impactful and specific to a person’s desired state of being. I start by doing what I call a “Current Overview of Self,” a mental and emotional diagnostic to see exactly what my mantra should target.

If it’s a day where I’m feeling lost, I’ll write a mantra about finding my way. In Sanskrit, the word mantra means “mind vehicle,” that’s exactly how I use them. They are meant to drive you to your desired state of being, your spirits destination. Adding the melody brings in the emotion which solidifies the message more deeply in the mind on a cellular level. Typical affirmations are not as effective for most due to lack of emotional connection. The melody(emotion) in your mantra is what really MOVES people. They are effective, fun, and easy to create. No music background necessary, it doesn’t even have to rhyme. Just a message infused with a powerful intention and some swag to represent your unique individual creativity. If you ever create one, share it. You never know who might need to hear your message.

We often hear from artists that being an artist can be lonely. Any advice for those looking to connect with other artists?
As a Transformation Artist, my idea of success is self-mastery and an impactful contribution to the human collective. I feel like a person must walk with a whole lot of integrity, purpose, and personal power to make a massive impact and represent something greater than themselves.

How or where can people see your work? How can people support your work?
