Today we’d like to introduce you to McKenna Schrimpf .

Hi McKenna, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I would say I was a natural-born entrepreneur. I saw my dad opening and running businesses when I was younger, and I have always had a creative, entrepreneurial brain. I began my first business at only 11 years old. Down the road, I launched a new freelance business and graduated from ASU with a business degree in entrepreneurship. During Covid, I started creating some of my own accessories and realized how much I enjoyed it! I started my business, Handmade By McKenna, in the fall of 2020 and haven’t looked back! I love that this business allows me to challenge myself creatively and grow as an entrepreneur!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
As a small business, there are always obstacles to overcome. I lead a busy life between my full-time job, school, business, social life, etc. It’s easy for me to get overwhelmed and consumed by it all. I often want to put my business on the back burner or even give up. Along the way, I’ve learned to take a break during the off seasons to re-fuel my creativity. It helps me realize how much I truly love what I do when I start craving to create again!

Handmade By McKenna is a curated collection of handcrafted goods. We specialize in making high-quality, stylish accessories for the neutral lovers of the world!

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some changes you expect to see over the next five to ten years?
The clothing/accessories industry is ever evolving. Trends come and go monthly as the seasons and styles change. As a business owner, I am always looking for what is new and how I could put my creative spin on trends that may surface.
