Meet Mayra Almazan, India Lov3

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mayra Almazan, India Lov3.

Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
I’ve been taking photos for about ten years, I knew since I was younger that it was passion, but I didn’t take it seriously until after high school. It took me along time to claim the title photographer. I wish that I could paint or draw but I can’t so I started putting my photos on canvases and went from there, along the way I came across local artist/creatives and it’s been a blessing ever since. I came across the right people who helped me build my confidence and who helped make my vision come true. If I would of never met such amazing people I wouldn’t be the artist that I am today.

Please tell us about your art.
I love to take pictures, I create my own memories and I want people to see things from my perspective. I especially like to take pictures of people off guard because it’s more meaningful instead of “strike a pose!”. I like to write quotes behind my canvases and it’s usually about things that I have gone through or messages that people have told me. It’s always personal and intimate when it comes to my work. I want to share myself with the world because I don’t do that enough. People don’t know the real “India.”

Choosing a creative or artistic path comes with many financial challenges. Any advice for those struggling to focus on their artwork due to financial concerns?
I know that being an artist comes with sacrifice, patience and time but with God all things are possible.
