Meet Matt Miller of Team Melvin🐶

Today we’d like to introduce you to Matt Miller.

So, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I started Teammelvin after my four years old English Bulldog Melvin passed away due to a heart attack. He got me through a lot of hard times in my life and I didn’t want his memory to fade away as he helped me more in those four years then I can ever imagine. I decided to create a charity in his name that would help save animals from the pound and being put to sleep and money to donate to animal shelters. I also decided that with the money we would help motocross racers as I race motocross and Melvin loved coming to the track. I came up with a teammelvin🐶 sticker that we sell for $5 each and we also take donations. Most motocross riders run the stickers on there bikes or there graphics to help support the cause. The 1st year we paid for close to 30 dogs to get rescued out of shelters and sponsored close to 15 riders.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I wouldn’t say struggle it’s all worth it to save the pups! Yes, it takes extra time to go visit shelters and go save the dogs but it’s the best feeling in the world when the pups get to leave and be safe!

We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
I’m just most proud of how many people have got stickers and how many people who ride or race in AZ run teammelvin🐶 stickers on there bike or gear. We have sold stickers to almost 35 different states as far as Maryland. Motocross racers are like one big family and if you go out to a race, you will see a ton of dogs they are just part of the race scene!

Just all the local riders who always donate to the cause! There are so many but guys who consistently donate like once a month or so keep us saving pups and donating to places who need help! Anthony Lugo, Grant MCcoy, Seth Markely, Kohl Bitz, Mike Vanzant just to name a few.
