Today we’d like to introduce you to Marquisha Bruce.

Marquisha, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Hello, my name is Quisha and I own and operate Royal Zhe, a Hair Care Brand. Since I was a small girl, I have always been intrigued with making hair care products that tamed my wild mane but saved money. I feel it’s important for women of color, to have access to quality hair care products without the high-end pricing. So, I created an edge control and pomade that perfectly held my 4c hair, realizing the greatness I created, I was compelled to share my edge control with the world.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
This has been an eye-opening journey for me. Some challenges I face are finding & retaining quality and committed brand ambassadors. Balancing daily life has been challenging as well, some days I dedicate my time to deliveries or restocking depending on business needs. Trying to manage growth while maintaining the quality of customer service has been difficult as well. I’m learning to set days for certain business functions so I don’t get overwhelmed. Self-care is of HUGE importance as a business owner.

Tell us more about the business.
Royal Zhe promotes growth while Smoothing and softening edges, and is non-greasy & non-flaking. The product contains no alcohol, & is infused with jojoba oil with a hint of cherry scent. My pomade is Armani scented is has a blue tint. Royal Zhe Pomade is great for waves and short styles I’m excited to introduce my product to you and I hope you enjoy it. Leaves hair looking healthier and shinier than before. Unlike many of our competitors, we don’t use alcohol in our ingredients. We are proud to produce a product that appeals to all hair types for both men & women.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
Luck has been on my side. I couldn’t have asked for a better first year as a business owner. I’ve received a ton of support upon launching Royal Zhe. I’ve also received various offers for my product to be sampled and/or placed in salons across Maricopa County.
