Hi Maria, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I learned the secret formula to weight loss through my own experience. I went from 60 lbs overweight in a miserable relationship to losing weight quickly through a plant-based diet, my love of Zumba fitness, and learning key mindset strategies to unlock my potential for a life of happiness, fun, and freedom. I became a fitness coach, life coach, and Zumba instructor, which helped me become the best version of myself, and now I dedicate my life to helping others do the same. I now have an online weight loss program called The Jasmine Retreat for women. Which is a holistic approach to assisting women to lose the weight they have been struggling to lose safely and positively. The program includes regular exercises on the Maria Jasmine Fitness App, where they can track workouts and have healthy, nutritious meal plans to follow. But, most importantly, I also have the Mind Training section for members where they learn to uncover limiting beliefs and behaviors that have been holding them back for so long, overcome these struggles, enabling them to release the unwanted weight and empower them to create healthy lives and unlock their hidden potential. The Jasmine Retreat is more than your average weight loss program.
It wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I overcame many hurdles along my journey to success. Most importantly, I learned that every struggle we face comes from our belief system and past experiences. Often, we are not aware of this past conditioning, which is deeply rooted, but once we learn what has been holding us back and affecting us. We can release it, learn to change our behaviors, and become liberated. This allows us to reach our full potential, which we all have hidden within us.

I specialize in weight loss for women with a foundational emphasis on mindset. Uncovering and healing our beliefs about weight loss can make it easier to lose and maintain a healthy body and mind. I offer a holistic monthly membership weight loss and maintenance program for women focusing on 4 pillars to success.
- Mind Training – the most important part of my program is the mind training element. Here, women learn to uncover what has been holding them back and learn how to change these limiting beliefs through evidence-backed tools using a combination of psychology and neuroscience and practice such as journaling and meditation.
- Plant-based nutrition – I offer a range of meal plans and recipes predominantly built around plants to help with healing, vitality, and weight loss.
- Physical exercise – Members receive access to my interactive fitness App, where they follow a fitness program to help them make exercise fun in their lives.
- Alongside weekly access to me for any other support they need along their journey.
I love this program because it is more than just a diet and exercise plan. Learning about your mental blocks and behaviors is important for losing weight and can make all the difference to long-term success.
What changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
The wellness industry is predicted to grow as more people become aware of how important health, movement, and mindfulness are in our daily lives. The fast food industry’s impact on our health is a growing problem. Still, if we can educate people and help them make healthy choices that fit into their lifestyles, we can make a positive difference in the future.
