Today, we’d like to introduce you to Margo Ramos. Margo was introduced to us by the brilliant and talented Amber Mikesell.
Margo, can you walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I’m Margarita Cabrero, but my friends and family call me Margo. I studied to be a teacher (which helped me raise my kids) and worked 2 years in one of the best schools in Mexico, teaching English classes in elementary school. This was my first job and I loved it – always happy, always laughing.
I went to Abilene Christian University where I took courses in Teaching of Reading and Language Arts. I loved being with people and I really enjoyed languages, which led me to learn French, some German, Italian and Mandarin. This love for language also led me to live in Paris for 2 years, where I worked the mornings in a Furr Boutique and took some courses in French and German in the afternoons.
When I returned, I studied Business Administration in Mexico and worked for 2 years in the airline business as a ticket agent, where I was the most recognized employee for the service. I really enjoyed this job because it gave me the freedom to travel, and ultimately move my way up in the company to where I eventually worked for a year as the Assistant to the General Manager from the airline business TWA and traveled around the world. This was made even more special because I had the opportunity to share this with my parent’s. I loved Public Relations and travel, I felt so full of life!! I was confident in myself, nothing was impossible for me. I lived a happy life with my parents, who always encouraged me to do whatever I wanted!
My life changed as I got married though, as they tend to do. I got pregnant with 2 beautiful kids, and I fell in love with them much deeper than I ever could Public Relations or travel. I decided to dedicate my life to them and help them achieve their goals. My greatest desire in life became making certain they grew up successfully and had every opportunity to be the people they are now. I also shifted my focus onto my husband and helped in every way I could as he became a highly successful businessman, supporting him as he grew the number one cargo freight carrier in Mexico.
My son finished his college degree with honors, worked alongside his Dad and now he’s started his own Cargo Freight Airline Business, following his Dad’s steps. We’re so proud of him.
My daughter finished her studies in Business Administration, played Golf for the University of Arizona in Tucson where she ranked number 1 and was consistently ranked top five in the USA from the team. She also came to be the number 2 golfer in Mexico, which was huge!
I’m very grateful for the life I’ve led and the opportunities I’ve had to experience both a corporate career, travel the world and enjoy the beautiful family that I love so deeply.
Let’s talk about your work and career – what else should we know?
I consider myself the Family CEO. As I mentioned earlier, I left the airline industry to support my family, which is my true love. I traveled all around the world with my children to provide them with options and opportunities they wouldn’t have had otherwise. This included moving to the United States 23 years ago while my husband remained in Mexico. It wasn’t easy living alone in a new country with two young kids, surrounded by strangers and a way of life that was completely new to me. However, my goal was to pursue my children’s dreams of playing golf, and this passion helped me overcome any obstacles and stay focused. I attended all of their golf tournaments, no matter where they took us, while my husband worked in Mexico and supported us. Although I missed my husband, family, and friends, I knew that our family’s mission was important, and I was determined to be there to support it. As my daughter grew and became a professional golfer, I lived with her in Europe (Madrid) when she received her Ladies European Tour Card (LET). It was a milestone for us, as it marked years of hard work and dedication. She was the first Mexican to receive the card, which was a great honor. I also caddied for her during her tour for several years, blending my love of travel with my love for her. Being a Family CEO has given me the most precious moments and memories of my life. I wouldn’t change a single moment spent with my children. The blessings keep growing, and four years ago, God gave us the first of five extraordinary grandchildren. Now, my focus has turned to helping my son and daughter raise their children. The flow of love in our family is so strong that it will continue through generations, and for that, we are blessed. However, in this incredible journey, I will admit that I lost myself and my awareness of my own life. My husband was always working to ensure that our family was financially cared for and secure, and I became completely consumed by our children’s needs and dreams, losing myself in the process. When I returned to Mexico from the United States, I didn’t feel like I belonged to either country. I had to start from zero, recovering my marriage and finding myself again. This was not easy, as my husband had become very used to living without me, and I felt empty without my children. I went into depression, and it became difficult for me to relate to my husband. Fortunately, I met Amber, who helped me get back on track and recover the person I had loved so much but had become distant from – myself. I’m proud to be the CEO of a wonderful family, and I know deep in my heart that I was part of their success. But now, after many years and with Amber’s help, I recognize myself not only for what I helped my family accomplish, but also for who I am as an individual. I’ve learned to value myself and have confidence in myself again. I’ve started to think about myself and to love myself, sticking to my beliefs, decisions, and choosing what makes me happy. I choose to always be grateful in life and know that my purpose is to “Be Love.” Amber taught me how to get respect from others by loving, respecting, and valuing myself first and letting my voice be heard again. I’ve learned how to say no and yes when I want to. One of my goals was to get back into a National Golf Tournament in Mexico, and I not only did it last year, but I also won!

Amber Mikesell and Suivera have been great to us and I know you’ve got a great relationship with them as well. Maybe you can tell our audience a bit about Amber Mikesell and Suivera and your experience with them.
When things don’t go as planned, it’s natural to doubt oneself and feel lost. It’s easy to fall into negative emotions like stress, depression, and insecurity, and lose sight of the light at the end of the tunnel. I found myself in that position, tired of feeling lonely, invisible, and unhappy with myself. That’s when I reached out to Amber for help. I needed a change and peace in my life.
We began working together over video conference, starting with getting to know who I was from a young age. We talked about my background, upbringing, relationships, and more. We focused on gratitude, and I wrote down all the things I was thankful for every day, realizing how lucky and blessed I truly was.
I learned how to be present and appreciative of the little things in life. I also learned to manage my energy and be conscious of my thoughts, feelings, and actions. I connected with my inner self and made small adjustments that led to big changes.
Reading Amber and Austin’s book, “Opportunities for Expansion,” was a turning point for me. The six-month process helped me assimilate and practice small shifts that expanded my entire life’s perspective. I highly recommend it.
Amber also taught me different techniques to improve my life, like the Tapping Technique, Meditation, Breathing Technique, and Yoga. Eating healthier also made me lose weight, gain confidence, and have more energy.
Through our sessions, Amber empowered me to set boundaries, speak up, and decide how I wanted to live my life without worrying about others’ opinions. She was my mentor, confidant, friend, and sister who helped me see the light again.
I cannot express how grateful I am to have met Amber. She has helped me become a better version of myself, and I cherish every session with her. Thank you, Amber! You are truly awesome!
