Meet Mandy Aliano of Vanity Boudoir by Mandy in Scottsdale

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mandy Aliano.

Mandy, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I’ve had a passion for makeup and Photography my entire life! My Grandfather put a camera in my hand when I was 4 years old, and I grew up playing in my Grandmother’s makeup at her built-in Vanity. In high school I took photography, and in college, I took on makeup gigs so that I didn’t have to take out student loans.

I moved to Arizona about eight years ago, and when I did, I pursued my full potential in makeup at Phoenix Makeup School. I graduated with honors and over five different Certifications and even taught as an instructor for two years. Feeling confident in my makeup abilities, I began pursuing photography in much more depth. I knew this was the career path I wanted, and I wasn’t going to let anything stop me. I hired mentors, and paid for classes, and took every opportunity I could to hone my craft and skill. I gained an unbelievable amount of knowledge and experience, and truly loved every second of it!

In 2014 I did my first Boudoir Photo-shoot with a friend (whom at the time was going through a super difficult time in her life) and I saw what that experience did for her self-esteem and confidence. I knew right then I had found everything I was trying to achieve! Watching it come together was such an overwhelming joy to my heart! I worked so hard for this moment, and will never forget how happy it made me see my friend so incredibly confident and happy!

Now I tell everyone I meet, I aim to be the Ellen DeGeneres of Boudoir photographers! Ellen has a way of lifting people up and creating joy in their lives, and that’s what I want for each and every single one of my clients. So, I custom create an entire day of pampering for each woman that becomes my client! I truly believe every woman should experience a boudoir photo-shoot at least once in their life, so it’s my goal to custom create the gift and experience of a lifetime just for them.

Has it been a smooth road?
It hasn’t been a smooth road by any means. I became a mother at 15, and worked four jobs to make ends meet, and also invest in my dreams and our future! I think the best advice I can give any #momboss or #mompreneur (or entrepreneur for that matter) out there is to keep a positive attitude, never give up (especially when things get tough), always remember to have a grateful heart no matter what stresses or successes come your way, and most of all, remain humble!

Please tell us more about your work. What do you do? What do you specialize in? What sets you apart from competition?
Absolutely! I am the proud owner of Vanity Boudoir by Mandy, a Full-Service Luxury Boudoir photographer and makeup artist who specializes in boudoir photography for everyday women. As I mentioned before, I custom create a luxury experience to each of my clients, and that is honestly what sets me apart from others. I am not your average Boudoir photographer. I am a one-stop-shop for my clients and remove ALL stress factors surrounding a Boudoir Photo-shoot.

I highly believe in quality over quantity, so every session is custom-tailored to each of my client’s style and personality. I invest a lot of time getting to know each client and what they envision for their experience so that I can capture the most gorgeous portraits they’ve ever seen of themself and create the Gift and Experience of a Lifetime, whether it’s for them or their Significant Other!

Boudoir Photography is my expertise. I specialize in taking women who have never done a Boudoir Photo-shoot before and showing them how truly beautiful they are! I’ve got each client 100% covered, from the tips of their lashes to the tips of their toes! I photograph everyday women who have likely never experienced a boudoir photo-shoot before, so I coach them through the entire session so they don’t have to worry about posing or how to look sexy.

Remember when I said I am a one-stop-shop for each of my clients?
I also specialize in creating a finished product such as gorgeous hand-crafted luxury albums, to museum-quality wall art for my clients, which takes away the stress of having to do it themselves. Lastly, plan. Don’t wait for the last minute to plan your session. Boudoir photography is very different from other genres. A typical time frame from start to finish is approximately 10-12 weeks.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
I think Phoenix is just as good as any city to start a career or business. It’s the person behind the business that makes it what it is! Again, a positive attitude and a grateful heart are key factors; but also having a support system in place is also a key in any success!
