Meet Malaun Rice of M-Drive in East Valley

Today we’d like to introduce you to Malaun Rice.

Malaun, before we jump into specific questions about the company, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I am a Chicago native and moved to Arizona 4 1/2 years ago. I started my business in Chicago but felt like I needed new scenery and a different vibe. Being a Transformational Speaker has always been in my DNA as I have always wanted to help others work through trauma. I am a sexual assault survivor and advocate for men, women and children to heal from sexual trauma. My story does not begin and end there. I have a background in Marketing and will also speak to various organizations about changing their mindset to get what they want. Before I came to all of this I had to work on myself first. Lots of prayers, lightbulb moments, tears, unlearning toxic behavior, meditation and burning sage. I am lucky because I have a tribe of friends in Chicago and Phoenix who love and support me along with my family. I could not do all of this without their support. I will begin to host workshops quarterly in 2020 and you will see me in the non-profit and corporate environment.

Has it been a smooth road?
NO WAY!! It has been some rough patches. Being a business owner has its ups and downs: financially, emotionally and spiritually. I wanted to wave the white flag so many times. It got hard a few times financially and I had to go back to Corporate. Don’t be afraid to go back to Corporate, just NEVER lose sight of your vision. Challenges taught me lessons and showed me my strength.

Tell us more about the company.
M-Drive is the name of my company and I am a Transformational Coach and a Speaker. Most people may have seen me speak at events educating on sexual assault, however, some have seen me speak the truth about happiness being a choice and growing as a person. It depends on my audience. I am proud that M-Drive came to Arizona and was able to help and service our target market. We have quite away to go to serving others BUT every person we touch life is better. What sets M-Drive apart is our goal is to see people heal and grow, money is not our main priority.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
My industry is a demand right now because people want freedom BUT lack the tools needed to have that type of access. Over the next five to ten years, M-Drive will be larger, with more employees and maybe some type of wellness center for our clients. I think more coaches will emerge and find their voice and niche to help others. What you may see is coaches with different specialties teaming up for the 360 approaches. I am currently working with a few coaches to launch a program soon.
