Meet Madison Desmarchais of Maxwell + Gray in Southwest

Today we’d like to introduce you to Madison Desmarchais.

Madison, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I have always been the “planner” in my family and groups of friends. Getting a group together and executing a perfect plan is something I love. I grew up in Los Angeles and had the opportunity to attend many special events that started my passion for all things events. In college, I received my Special Event Management Certificate and used my training to work at a startup company that planned workshops for local businesses and bloggers. After graduation, I got engaged and had the opportunity to plan my own event, our wedding! Little did I know, this would be the first of many weddings down the road. I spent ten months diving deep into wedding planning, and we had the best party ever in Malibu, CA, on Nov 3rd, 2017. My husband and I moved to Dallas, and I knew I had to get into the wedding industry. I met Stacy Hillstead, owner of Maxwell + Gray, and we instantly clicked, Our passion for events and love, was what made us a dream pairing. She brought me in with open arms and taught me everything I know. We have done over 60 weddings in the last year and a half and have loved every minute of it. My husband and I will be moving to Gilbert, AZ come 2020, and I will be bringing Maxwell + Gray over to the Southwest! We are so excited to start this journey and help plan your wedding but rather the greatest story ever told, celebrated and documented.

Has it been a smooth road?
We’re constantly learning as we go. Each couple is different, each weekend is different, and each market is different. Some days are smooth sailing and others not. We have to remind ourselves that at the end of the day, we are here to love and to serve. Struggles? There are always struggles. But it would be boring any other way. I think keeping our minds sharp and idea fresh wedding after wedding – making sure that we don’t get caught up with what “others are doing” but we focus on forward-thinking and helping tell each couple’s story!

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Maxwell + Gray story. Tell us more about the business.
We specialize in wedding planning + design. We offer everything from your month of coordinator to a full-service planner. We have many options to customize your package, including design and partial planning services to create a custom package just for you! What we are proud of is that we always want to make your wedding day truly who you are! We never want to make your day feel like another one of our days. This is YOUR day. We’re here to be the still, small voice along the way, providing as much or as little guidance as you need. Always planning, creating, collaborating, and of course, always celebrating.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
Every time our couples come over to us after they have their final dance, and as we get them ready to whisk them off to their happily ever after, they give you the BIGGEST smile and hug, and you hear the words, Thank you. We are so thankful for each and every couple and feel so proud to be a part of the biggest days of their lives.
