Today we’d like to introduce you to Machelizabeth Morgan.
Machelizabeth, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
As a child, I was always very creative, and Mom kept me in extracurricular art classes such as crocheting, sewing, drawing piano, and clarinet classes. When I was in high school, I have always had a passion for Art and was accepted into top-notch art schools. My parents did not think art was a practical profession and steered me into the more traditional route of obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree.
I chose a major in Marketing because I felt it was universal to all businesses. My first job after graduating from Cal State University of Long Beach, I ran away and joined the Circus Vargas. I was their marketing director and promoted the event nationwide. I was also a previous owner of a Subway Sandwich franchise. For 17 years, I was a real estate broker as a mortgage loan consultant. The turning point and switch of career happened when i became an instructor for Mission Renaissance Fine Art Studios – teaching kids how to draw and paint.
My current day job is as a graphic designer and social media manager. I am also an event producer for Art Battle International in Arizona and San Diego. I team up with businesses to help enhance their online presence. I have a passion to promote other artists artwork holding paint and sip art sessions for team corporations and private parties. I also love teaching DIY jewelry beading classes.
Most of all, I’m a proud MOM to four wonderful adult children, oldest son age 25, twin sons aged 24, daughter 23, plus one daughter-in-law who are all striving to obtain their master’s degrees.
Has it been a smooth road?
I had a successful career as a Loan Counselor, but it required a lot of time away from home. I had to hire an AuPair to help with my kids. During that period of time, I realized I never saw my kids but they had everything financially. So I asked myself, did I bring these kids into the world for someone else to raise and instill their own personal morals and values into my children.
The answer was NO! So I had to make a change. I retired from the real estate industry and followed my first passion for the love of art. I took a cut in pay and started teaching part-time as an instructor with Mission Renaissance fine art studios and went back to school to learn Adobe software to put my artwork into the computer and become a graphic designer.
I started Goal Graphics at the same time as becoming an art instructor because I wanted to spend more quality time with my children. I was a single mom, and the struggles were real. They were growing up so fast, but my kids would help by supporting their mom in making jewelry and spending time at the beach while I sold my products.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Goal Graphics story. Tell us more about the business.
What sets me apart from other agencies is that I am the local event producer for Art Battle International. I am most proud to promote this brand and uplift artists through this unique platform and give them the recognition they deserve. You might ask what is Art Battle?
Art Battle is a live competitive painting event! Painters will create the best work they can across three timed 20-minute rounds. As they work, the audience moves around the easels, allowing them an up-close view of the creative process. At the end of the rounds, the audience votes for their favorite painting and the top two artists move on to the Final Round with a new canvas.
The winners of each city are invited to participate for the international title of champion. Goal Graphics works independently serving clients, companies, ad agencies, and design firms to write and implement strategic marketing campaigns.
With a talented team of international artists, Goal Graphics will help you increase your exposure and assist you with promotion solutions that produce results in these fields: advertising, promotions, marketing, graphic page layouts, design consultations for web development, content writing, blogs, and increase online presence.

What do you know now that you wish you knew when you were just starting out?
I am happy where I’m at currently. I have no regrets even though the road was tough it made me who I am today. I like me. Wishing I had taken other paths than the ones I took, would have given me different unknown experiences.
If I missed a fortunate opportunity, I hope that a similar opportunity came back around my way if I was supposed to be blessed. I am happy with my life and looking forward to meeting more people along this journey and learning more things that elevate myself and others.
