Today we’d like to introduce you to Lorie Greenwell

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I was very fortunate to have an uncle, Burt Greenwell, who was a well-known and respected veterinarian. He taught me a great deal, and I sometimes wish I had paid even more attention when I was younger. Owning horses, you inevitably face challenges, often with your best ones. Over the years, I’ve learned a lot from veterinarians, farriers, and friends, often through trials and tribulations. Accidents happen, and sometimes you have to trust your instincts. I recall a case about 7 years ago where i followed my heart and treated a colt in the way I BELIEVED was right. Now the gelding is winning saddles, buckles, and has a normal life. When you have a lifestyle that involves animals, you naturally start to teach yourself to follow your intuition.

In the past 2 years, I’ve had the privilege of working with some amazing veterinarians, including holistic vets, and holistic equine practitioners. Judy Gillum, in particular, has taken me under her wing, and I’ve learned so much from her- I learn something new almost everyday. The saying ‘If you love what you do, you’ll never work a day in your life’’ holds absolutely true for me. Whether it’s rehabbing a horse or managing one through my exercise program, I absolutely love what I do.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Life has struggles, when the struggle bus picks you, make sure your crayons are sharp, cause you’re about to learn a life lesson. For the most part it’s been pretty smooth, there’s been a few cases that have made me reevaluate the situation and try a different approach.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
As an equine dentist, I ensure that every horse is up to date on their dental care. I’m also a distributor for Cellaide, an exceptional supplement that I provide to all my horses. My approach to feeding is primarily natural.
