Meet Loren Broussard of MicroAcademy of Arizona in South Mountain

Today we’d like to introduce you to Loren Broussard.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Loren. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I have been operating as a mentor and educator in various capacities for years. I recently, volunteered and later contracted with Roosevelt school to offer after school activities like flag rugby and financial literacy. As students and educators began to enjoy the growth and wanted more offered to families, that’s when we expanded to create an enrichment program for youth and families. We focused on underrepresented communities that struggled with finances and family dynamics. We thought that creating opportunities where students and adults as well as youth and parents could learn play and grow to build a stronger community.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The journey has been a bumpy road. The community support and unlimited suggestions kept the vision clear. Every learning opportunity launched a new horizon. The journey has no destination but ends connections and networking for building stronger families.

MicroAcademy of Arizona – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
MicroAcademy of Arizona is an expansion of us after school, BroustarAcademy. BroustarAcademy offers a variety of enrichment programs and exposure to worldwide exploration, financial literacy, entrepreneurship, life skills, Olympic Games, and fitness and nutrition lessons. We are proud of our company as being a window into a new way of life and learning for youth in families in our communities. We hold a value that is unprecedented and foster a cognitive level of understanding yet to offered in traditional spaces.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Our 2020 vision began in 2015, from several partnerships within our communities, we realized how important it was for children to not only have common core knowledge but also an enriched delivery to the potential future opportunities, Today!
