Today we’d like to introduce you to Lexi Alguire

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My name is Lexi, I’m 29 years old, and I was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona. I’ve always had a passion for nail care and nail art. Self-care has always been very important to me ever since I was a teenager. Art became my creative outlet and first love. I guess you could say, all of this kind of started as a hobby of sorts. That I then curated into a business and my passion project.

I graduated from Turning Point Beauty College in April 2023 and became Licensed Nail Technician specializing in gel nails in June 2023 right here in Phoenix, Arizona. Lexadelic Nails was formed shortly after. It became my mission to create a safe space and make it accessible for anyone and everyone to treat themselves to everything nails. Thus Lexadelic Nails Mobile Nail Services was born!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There have been challenges and it’s been quite the journey so far. Physical, mental, emotional and spiritual hurdles so to speak. I wouldn’t change it for anything because it brought me here. Where I am today. No matter the obstacle, I’ve managed to overcome it, thus far.

It all started while I was still attending college. During the first few months of my nail technician program, I fell very ill and had to be hospitalized and receive emergency surgery on my back because I had developed mild sepsis and severe cellulitis. Thankfully, I recovered pretty quickly after receiving treatment. I returned back to school shortly then after. Played catch-up a bit. Then got back into my rhythm. Next thing I knew I had reached 600 hours into my program and was ready to graduate.

Once I had graduated, it was time to pass my board exams. At this point in time in 2023 there were not many openings at my testing site. So I ended up taking the first available slots, which happened to be a few weeks apart from each other. Playing the waiting game and all. All my focus was on passing those exams. Which I did.

The same day I was licensed was the same day that I created Lexadelic Nails LLC. I had done a lot of research on how to form a business while in school as well as in my studies. There were a few different options. I ended up using a third-party company to help me get started. To make sure I had all my ducks in a row. Which licenses I needed in order to be in compliance with up-to-date rules and regulations. A lot of back-and-forth and a lot of learning opportunities. You know having to revise Form A when you should’ve submitted Form B. This, that, and the other thing.

I’m still learning and growing along my business and taking things as they come. I couldn’t be more grateful.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Lexadelic Nails exclusively focuses on gel nails and natural nail care. I provide Gel-X, other soft gels, manicure, and pedicure all from the comfort of clients’ own homes. Taking the pressure out of the salon experience and bringing the salon to you.

Anything crazy, kooky, fun that’s my jam! Larger than life would best describe my style of art. My artwork is my passion and my livelihood. My mission is to create a safe space for everyone to indulge in self-care and self expression. Operating with kindness, compassion, and care.

My clients work hard and I want to give that back to them, as they deserve.

I firmly believe that our core values and our moral compass guides where we need to go. Doing good in the world and paying it forward to those in our own lives. Whether we can best do that in our day-to-day in our personal lives or give back in our professional lives it’s all the same. The same bottom line. Be the change that you want to see. In whatever ways you can. Showing up is the first step.
