Meet Leslie Lehr of All Your Ducks In A Row in Arcadia

Today we’d like to introduce you to Leslie Lehr.

Leslie, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I am Leslie, obsessed with organization, design, tidy solutions, fashion, entertaining, traveling, and laughing. I launched my business and blog to create and inspire organized lifestyle solutions for home + office. All Your Ducks in a Row blog is where I share my passion for organization, entertaining, design, style, family, friends, philanthropy, and efficient solutions to everyday needs.

I have been married to an incredible man, Todd, for 21 years. I am the proud Mom of one amazing teen daughter, and two silly King Charles Cavaliers. My husband, daughter, friends, and family gave me the courage to launch All Your Ducks in a Row. I am truly grateful for my flock.

For as long as I can remember I have loved to organize, clean, decorate, and have everything in its place. I spent countless hours organizing and redecorating my dollhouse. My dollhouse was built by my father, Jerry Vincent, and given to me as a Christmas gift. It was a replica of our house at the time including blue shutters and bay window. I still find myself organizing the dollhouse when I return to my parents’ home.

Over the years, friends and family would complement my ability to design and organize our homes. I received requests to reorganize friends’ homes for a fee. I was always happy to help, however, I was uncomfortable with accepting any payment for my services. I believed my compulsion for order was a curse. My husband encouraged me to follow my passion for design and organization and start my own business.

I decided to celebrate my compulsion and embrace it. Now, I consider my need to organize as my passion vs. compulsion. In 2017, I launched my business and blog All Your Ducks in a Row. I am thrilled that I have the opportunity to provide organized lifestyle solutions everyday for clients and readers.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
When I launched All Your Ducks in a Row, my business plan included two components. The first phase of my strategy was to build my organized lifestyle solutions, services, and design by referral only. The second component was to create a blog to share my passion for organization, design, fashion, style, and travel. Creating my business was exciting especially when I obtained my business license, developed contracts, and established accounting procedures. I experienced my first obstacle when I set my second piece of my business in motion.

I will forever be grateful to my first client who trusted me with their beautiful new home. At the time, my business was just an idea. My client and her husband encouraged me to assist them get their ducks in a row. Their confidence encouraged me to formulate my business plan. I learned quickly that I would offer customized solutions based on my clients’ needs. My business began to grow through word of mouth and clients’ referrals.

I experienced some challenges when I set the second business component in motion, my blog www.allyourducksinarow.net. While I successfully identified a hosting company, registered my domain name, and selected a platform, I realized my limitations when it came to my website. The solution was to hire a company to set up my website. Once my site was completed, I worked with an expert who taught me how to customize my content.

Being consistent with updating my blog is always an obstacle. I am fortunate that my services have been in demand and my business has expanded. The challenge is that my writing time is limited. While I have the content and stories for my blog, I need to establish a writing schedule
