Check out our conversation with Leanna below.
Hi Leanna, thank you so much for sitting down with us again. For folks who might have missed our initial interview, can you start by briefly introducing yourself?
I started this company without any idea of what would unfold in the last 13 years. I began this company knowing I wanted to help business owners get the visibility they needed in order to succeed online. Because of saying “yes” to most opportunities that have come my way I am now an international speaker, global marketing agency owner, social media strategist and co-author of the Amazon International bestseller Light At The End Of The Funnel, a practical guide for business owners who are ready to step into success.
As owner of DeBellevue Global Marketing Agency, my team and I have helped clients from over 19 countries generate millions of dollars in sales using social media to connect and engage with their target markets. The companies we have worked with range from global conglomerates to real estate moguls and individual business owners looking to reach new untapped markets. The company is in its 13th year proving its ability to withstand the ups and downs digital marketing firms face.
I have spoken in front of thousands of entrepreneurs, business leaders and decision-makers from over 13 countries on topics ranging from overcoming success blockers to implementing social media strategies and business growth hacks. I have written for HuffPost and was a guest speaker on podcasts by Iheartradio, Real Estate, and Health Coach Academy among several others. I was also a 2020-2021 Council Member for Forbes Magazine. Most recently I was inducted into the Who’s Who in America by Marquis Publication Board for 2023.
How has how you viewed success changed for you over the years?
Success when I first started out was pretty basic. It meant keeping food on the table for my (then) teenagers. Now success means creating a lasting impact in the marketing industry. It means creating a company based in integrity and creating a working environment that keeps our employees happy and growing. Success is not necessarily a dollar amount anymore, success is freedom. Freedom of time, freedom to create new ideas, freedom to implement innovating ideas and freedom to pivot and change as the industry grows.
What is the biggest lesson you learned throughout this journey?
The biggest lesson so far is that it is about the journey as a whole, not the destination. In the beginning I was focused on the outcome, now I am focused on the different steps, phases and growth along the way. So far nothing has turned out the way I planned, which I am very grateful for because what I am experiencing now is much better than I could have ever imagined!
What piece of advice would you give your younger self?
I would tell my younger self to just say yes! Even if it scares you, if an opportunity is in alignment with who you know you are, then say yes. Figure it out along the way… just don’t let fear drive you.
If you could do one thing differently or over what would it be and why?
I would have outsourced the parts of my business I struggled with sooner. I spent so much time on tasks that I either disliked or did not excel in that it limited the time I had to work in the areas that truly moved the business needle faster. Once I delegated tasks that I did not enjoy, I had more time to focus on business growth and development. As business owners we often think we have to wear allllll the hats, but in reality if we wear the ones that fit us the more productive we can be, and the faster we will reach our goals.
