Meet Leah Wolf of Glory Floral Designs in Tempe

Today we’d like to introduce you to Leah Wolf.

Leah, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Owning a business had never crossed my mind until one day a friend asked me, “If money was no obstacle and you could not fail, what would you do?” As I thought about it, I combined my passions (flowers and serving others) with my skill set (creativity and organization) and I decided I would have a floral design business, giving a portion of my profit to different charities and missions organizations. Then the reality hit that there was no reason for me not to try this! I started asking questions about the ‘how’ of having a business and God started providing: supportive people, knowledgeable people, practical resources, finances, AND clients… Running a business is sometimes rocky and draining, but through it I have experienced joy that I wouldn’t trade for the world.

Has it been a smooth road?
Nope. =) Being a “one-woman-show” (so to speak), I have struggled and made mistakes in pretty much every area of business at some point or another. But they always help me grow. At the beginning of my venture, there was so much I didn’t know. I have since learned how to: better care for flowers so they last longer, charge appropriately for the time that I spend designing, and adjust my communication style to suit my client’s style. I would say that the most consistent struggle for me now is trying to hone in on what is important in EACH area of business. I am constantly reassessing what I DO, because I want to do it with excellence to the best of my ability. I have learned that I just can’t do it all. =)

Please tell us about your business.
Glory Floral Designs exists to serve others with excellence in the area of floral design and create social impact by donating a portion of our profit to charitable organizations. I believe we can all make a difference in our community with the skills we have and I am proud to have clients who trust me to use mine.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
The best part of our city is the community. We have such a diverse population, and I love the different perspectives that exist. I dislike the traffic. Haha.
