Meet Lauren Ruiz of Guide My Business

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lauren Ruiz.

Lauren, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I’m a lawyer with a passion for local business and entrepreneurship. Through speaking engagements and as a mentor at The Foundress, I love connecting with and inspiring business owners of all industries. I’m a proud Arizona native who grew up in a family where an entrepreneurial spirit was always encouraged. My family stayed at it day and night to create the business of their dreams, and I was fortunate enough to witness every minute of their hard work. I was determined to do the same, which led me to earn dual degrees in Finance and Entrepreneurship, followed by a law degree from the University of Arizona.

After several successful years drafting and negotiating multi-million dollar commercial contracts for a global corporation, I realized the current model for legal services was not serving the needs of small business in our community. This led me to create Guide My Business, a place where I can provide a proactive and comprehensive approach to legal services with monthly legal counsel and flat rate services to address the needs of businesses as they grow.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Throughout my years of experience, I’ve found that conventional legal services don’t necessarily meet the unique needs of small businesses. I believe that as an entrepreneur, you deserve to have the right support that provides you with peace of mind when it comes to the legal aspects of running your business.

My challenge was how I could offer my services in a manner that focused on building community, accessibility, and quality legal support, all without the fear that a clock starts ticking the moment you call me!

Please tell us about Guide My Business PLLC.
I specialize in small business law for local Arizona businesses. I can help when a business owner is ready to create an on-brand agreement to support their business operations, establish expectations with their current or growing team, or lease or purchase a space for their growing business.

My focus on staying true to my clients brand and proving tailored support that fit their long term vision. I work with Arizona businesses spanning services, retail, personal brands, and professional service business alike, all trying to navigate the relationships impacting their business.

I am most proud of my legal strategy membership, because I believe the entrepreneurs should have access to legal counsel and support as their business grows, not just when legal issues arise. I created my membership to provide an accessible, cost-effective way to receive legal counsel that addresses the needs of businesses at every turn.

What’s your outlook for the industry in our city?
I could talk for hours about what an incredible entrepreneurial ecosystem we have in Phoneix. The community is not only supportive of local businesses, full of resources but also focused on creating honest connections.
