Meet Lauren MCDowell of Bellezza By Lauren in Paradise Valley

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lauren MCDowell.

Lauren, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I am the owner of Bellezza by Lauren. I have been in the beauty industry for 13+years. My passion is to make women look and feel better about themselves by enhancing their natural beauty and by not covering up with face tune and Instagram filters. I am very passionate about the beauty positivity movement and being comfortable in your own skin.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I have been very blessed to work with wonderful and amazing women. I most definitely have had to work hard to build the freelance business that I have and am very grateful for everyone who has supported me along the way.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Bellezza By Lauren story. Tell us more about the business.
I am a born creative. My passion is makeup, it is my art to create on a clean canvas of a clients face. I also style and do all types of hairstyles. From simple blowouts and or beachy waves to updos I can execute the client’s vision. In addition, I am a stylist and absolutely love to style out a client. From going to pick out new outfits with the client to just going to there home and helping them pick out options for events and or everyday wear. I live for makeovers and that is my true passion. Making over the client as a whole.

Tell us about your childhood, what were you like growing up?
I was a very eccentric and intuitive child. I knew at a very young age that I would be in the beauty industry. My mother was a hairdresser so being in that environment allowed me to be creative and practice on my friends and family. I was always creating some type of art! My intuition has helped guide me throughout my career and in working with other talented creatives and clients.
