Lauren, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
As local Phoenix resident my journey as a highly trained hair colorist began with humble roots of self independence and the need to give my assistant my long wait list of clients. I opened my first studio half a mile from my current location which is now a very trendy hot spot in the Phoenix area. I have trained to push myself with techniques and custom processes that are internationally acclaimed.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Success is paved with challenges, ask any entrepreneur. Passing the torch to my staff with the specialized training processes is timely and a huge personal investment both in revenue and hands on mentoring. My personal philosophy is once you get to my level you must pass it on to help others thrive.

The Root Salon specializes in high-end corrective color. We use boutique italian color that takes a chemistry background to apply and execute. We are also on the cutting edge of technology and social media and we streamline the customer experience for personalization and efficiency.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
The Root Salon is networked with the Yelp small business advisory alliance. There are only 21 ambassadors that hold this position globally. Our reputation in the industry is based on quality experience and service and this helps us regulate and innovate that part of our business.
