Meet Lauren Beamon of Tailor Made Tans in Tempe

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lauren Beamon.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Lauren. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I started my journey in the restaurant industry by first attending Le Cordon Bleu and thought I wanted to be a chef and own my restaurant. Well, after working for Disney for six months, my mind was made up and I wanted to be in a more glamorous industry. I became an aesthetician four and a half years ago and wanted o to learn about skincare. I fell head over heels with excitement to finally know how to take care of my face as well as educating people about how to take care of there own skin. After working as an Esthetician at a couple of spas, I wanted to grow and learn other treatments. I started Learning Lashes at Amazing lash studio and Stayed for three years training other professionals on how to do lashes. I have a passion for beauty and self-confidence, when I have lashes and a tan, I feel so comfortable in my skin and I feel as a women in her late 20’s that appearance and self-esteem play a big part in anyone’s life, so spray tanning was the last service I have leaned and It is my passion! I started spray tanning Became my calling. I learned how to spray tan In Scottsdale, and fell in love with customizing different colors to create the best shade for each person. A year later, I decided to embark on a lifetime dream of owning my own business. So, here we are today, three months in and making moves!!

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I would say the hardest struggle was taking that big leap into starting my own business and saving for space and making sure I had everything in order. But honestly, it was all worth not having a day off or working into the late hours. I don’t regret a single thing because I know It was worth it and I’m going to touch people’s lives in this beauty industry!

We’d love to hear more about your business.
I own Tailor made Tans with my mom, who without her this would not be possible. I customize the tan with specific undertones such as red, green, purple and customize DHA levels to get the tan as light as I want or super dark, depending on the person. I specialize in contouring and having a vegan, paraben-free solution. I am most proud of all the supporting clients I have. Without them, I wouldn’t be here today. What sets me apart is I won’t try to rush anything and I’m very meticulous. I have an artistic mind that helps me create new and exciting services and extras I provide to customize a tan or lashes.

What role has luck (good luck or bad luck) played in your life and business?
I don’t regret anything and wouldn’t want to start over.
