Meet Laura Randles

Today we’d like to introduce you to Laura Randles.

Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
I am an Arizona native and local artist. My primary medium of choice is paint with the addition of various mixed media. Since I was raised in Tucson, quite a few of my pieces have both desert and Native American elements to them. I had spent time abroad in Central America studying the art, cultures, & languages of the different countries. My style and use of color are greatly influenced by those experiences. As for my ocean inspired pieces, I am also a Pisces and I love the ocean and all large bodies of water dearly. I only select the finest grades of paints, materials, and canvas to deliver the best quality paintings possible.

Please tell us about your art.
I create mixed media oil paintings using high grade oil paints, genuine abalone and mother of pearl, and I ridescent acrylic paints. Some people have told me my paintings bring them to their happy place while other say it makes them feel something they cannot put to words. These are the feelings and comments I love to hear. I want my art to touch people and make them feel something- whether it’s giving one of my cards to someone they love or having one of my paintings in their home.

Do you have any advice for other artists? Any lessons you wished you learned earlier?
Do not give up on your dream- ever. If you put enough energy and heart into your work and growing your business, it will happen for you. You only get one life so make sure at the end you know in your heart you did what you truly wanted and tried as hard as you could!

How or where can people see your work? How can people support your work?
www.oilgoddessart.com and I will be a part of a snowbird show starting in September through April on every second Sunday from 1 PM to 4 PM at Three Canyon Beer and Wine Garden in Tucson. I will also be in an upscale artisan show on December 1st at 49ers golf club in Tucson- times to be announced on my website!
