Meet Lanna Dang of Pampr’d Soul in North Scottsdale

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lanna Dang.

Lanna, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I come from a background in the nail salon business. I grew up with immigrant Vietnamese parents who opened one of the first nail salons in Santa Rosa, CA, almost 30 years ago. My family and I moved here about 12 years ago and they have continued to work in the nail industry.

There was a period during college years, where I moved around a lot and had my fare share of unsatisfying experiences in nail salons firsthand. I felt they were often cold, transactional and unsanitary. It was odd to me that an experience that was supposed to be pampering relaxing and positive often left me a little more stressed out than when I came in and often frustrated. I am on a mission to create a positive change in the nail services industry.

This is how my business was born. Pampr’d Soul was founded on the need to bring back top-notch, genuine experiences to nail salons. We felt that there wasn’t enough authentic connections and wonderful experiences in nail salons, so we created that. In our space, women can come to reconnect (either with others or with themselves), rejuvenate and re-energize to powerfully take on the rest of their day.

After college, I worked in sales for different companies from start-ups to Fortune 500 corporate positions. I can say without a doubt that everything I’ve done has led me to the beautiful entrepreneurial path I am on now and I could not be more grateful. In my years of market research and gathering as much information as I can to build Pampr’d Soul, I can confidently say that there is no other nail salon that provides what we offer.

Has it been a smooth road?
The journey to building this brand has been anything but easy. While I’ve grown up the industry and have been around nails my whole life, I knew at the start that I was building something that has never been done before. Beyond delivering consistent, exceptional results to our clients, we also want to make sure that their entire experience is exceptional every visit. We want ladies to look forward to getting their nails done with us because they’ll know, without a doubt, that they will leave feeling refreshed, reconnected and totally in love with their nails.

To achieve this, every detail has to be meticulously thought out and executed upon. We need to account for the brands of products we use, who are vendors are, the technology to support our goals such as knowing it’s a client’s birthday when they walk in and offering them our membership perks, the systems in place to ensure proper sanitation and safety for everyone and our overall messaging needs to be consistent. Throw in a staff of ten different people from all different backgrounds and, of course, that comes with its challenges.

All this to say, I wouldn’t rather trade positions with anyone. We are not perfect but as Pampr’d Soul grows and begins to take on her own identity, I’m falling more and more in love with who we’re becoming every day. We also happen to have the most amazing team in the industry hands down. While all personalities may vary, one thing we have in common for sure is our heart for service and our passion for nails.

We are a full-service nail salon and spa offering manicures, pedicures, nail enhancements, facials & waxing for the modern-day busy woman. Unlike many other nail salons, we care about having a true connection with our clients. We pride ourselves in our customer service and quality of work. Our specialties are definitely mani’s and pedi’s and our coveted massages. We’ve also included specialty services on our menu, such as CBD Therapy & Meditation manicures & pedicures.

We understand that our client is busy and wants her to be able to make the most of her time with us. Going to her nail appointment is no longer about checking a task off her list but rather sacred time spent where she can recharge and be empowered to take on the rest of her busy day. Everything about our space is meant to foster community and a sense of belonging. Details like product selection, length of time of service, waiting area and menu items have all been carefully thought out with the customer experience in mind. With the new brand rolling out, we are thrilled to be offering a membership program with tons of perks and highly rewards our clientele family.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
Our city is amazing! I feel like we get the best of all worlds here where we’ve got access to big city extracurriculars like hiking, high-quality beauty services, top-notch bars and restaurants and lots of nightlife options but we also have the convenience and luxury of less traffic and easy access to all the things. If we wanted to go shopping, we don’t have to park in a seven-story parking garage and pay for it. I’m so grateful to live here and am so happy about the fact we are continuing to grow.

As for the beauty industry, Scottsdale is one of the top in country and I’m proud to be a salon owner in a city that is the leader in new technologies and innovations. The only thing I would love to see more of in our city is diversity. I grew up in the Bay Area, CA and was used to a melting pot of different people and cultures. I definitely miss that.
