Today we’d like to introduce you to Lani Fisher.

Lani, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I had been a therapist for 12 years and could no longer keep up with my demand. I had a four-week wait period to get on my massage table. My daughter was starting school which meant I would no longer see her during the day. I decided I would bring on a few therapists to help with my overflow, allowing me a couple weeknights with my family.

After interviewing several therapists, I found a new mission: Create a company that provides the highest quality of mobile massage service across the world while helping therapists take back their value in our industry. As much as I am grateful for large-scale massage corporations making massage more readily available and known to the masses, it greatly affected the value of a therapist.

Therapists went from making $50 per massage or $20 per hour to $15 per massage, expected to clean and stay on shift for 7-8 hours, only being paid if a customer booked. I was shocked! Something had to change. So, I created a company that valued therapists.

Giving therapists flexibility, paying them as much as possible, while still being able to run a business and provide clients with the highest level of service possible. That is how Pure Knead Massage was born! I saw a need to help others. We are one of the highest paying massage companies to work for across the nation. Which means our therapists love their jobs, we get the best quality therapists, and our customers get the best massage available. It’s a win-win for everyone!

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I think every business has obstacles. That’s what happens when you are creating a new concept. Everyday brings new challenges, this is the gift of growth. Some days it’s needing more therapists, others creating a new backend system. Each challenge we have come across has helped us. It’s made our brand stronger.

I would say I am most proud of our mission, helping therapists take back our industry while providing the highest quality service available. I believe our mission is what sets us apart as a company. Our vision is to be the largest distributor of massage therapy worldwide. We will be opening our Los Angeles and Orange County branches this year.
