Today we’d like to introduce you to Lacy Cain.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Lacy. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Back in September of 2018, I decided I wanted to build a company that would bring people joy because I think the world needs a little more of it. Digging into research, I discovered that people were online on sites like Craigslist trying to sell an activity that they were passionate about. I found single moms building yoga studios inside their homes, ex-wall street employees showing people how to paddleboard, 30-year long desert experts taking others ATVing into private property.

I wanted to do all these things but it was so stinking hard to find them in the first place. Boom! Hello WildJoy. A place for people to go online and book unique experiences hosted by locals. We are headquartered in Phoenix and are growing everywhere. I wanted to find a way to make it super easy for all of these people with precious things to share an easy way to sell them with joy.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I launched the company in June 2019 but realized in late July that we had already outgrown the capabilities of our pre-built site. Since August, the team and I have been heads down working on the technical platform. We are excited about the new launch!

Please tell us about your business.
What do we do: WildJoy connects adventure seekers to unique experiences that can be found on our online platform, wildjoy.com. We specialize in experiences that are hosted by passionate locals. People know WildJoy as the place to go to for trusted, worth every penny experiences. WildJoy’s growth is fueled heavily by social media as #TheJoyClub.

#TheJoyClub is the movement of people actively pursuing joy! We use this as a reminder to our guests, hosts, and WJ team that we are all in this together. WildJoy is a community, not just a company.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Absolute grit and determination.

Pricing:

Prices vary based on the activity but our average price is around $70 per person per experience.
