Meet Lacey Toves

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lacey Toves.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Lacey. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I’m a wanderer, and I love to travel. I grew up in a small town in Michigan but got the itch to explore when I went off to college. I earned two Bachelor’s degrees from Arizona State University. I spent five years in the sales and marketing industry, working for both Fortune 500 companies and startups. This helped me to understand how important branding and marketing can be for a company, as well as how valuable a business owner’s time can be.

I then became a teacher. I have a passion for education and lifelong learning, and I enjoy working with and inspiring my students to reach their full potential. I even love the mundane parts of teaching, such as creating lesson plans and organizing units.

Yet, my wandering spirit could not be trapped by a cubicle or in a classroom. I yearned for more. I now run my own business as a Virtual Assistant, which allows me the opportunity to work with business owners and entrepreneurs around the globe. It also gives me the flexibility to seek adventure on my schedule.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It has been a fairly smooth road so far. I have found a career that allows me to be both creative and professional. Being a VA has somehow combined all of my skills and passions into one super role.

Also, if a client requires assistance in other tasks or programs, I am willing and able to seek education on that topic and add it to my list of services.

All of my close friends and family members have been extremely supportive in my venture by sharing information about my business on different social media platforms, promoting my services through word of mouth and bringing new clients my way. My husband Mike, has been especially supportive by encouraging me to take a risk and leave the more conventional 9-5 jobs behind to start something new. He has helped to build my confidence and is always there when I need advice.
