Meet Kristin Molenaar

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kristin Molenaar.

Kristin, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I have been an entrepreneur enthusiast since childhood, always doing random things to make money (selling stationary door to door, mystery shopping, etc). It was in late 2014 that I took the plunge into full-time entrepreneurship, leaving behind a great job. I spent about a year floundering painfully realizing that what made me a great employee wasn’t translating into entrepreneur success.

Tired of being broke, overworked, and lonely, I applied for some work from home jobs. It was then that I landed my first virtual assistant gig – I was stoked. Until my client asked me to start writing blogs for him. Not even a full blog post later, I decided I’d rather pay someone else to write the blog than do it myself. I hired an intern and realized that I was on to something!

My client was happy. My intern was happy. I was happy!

I’d struck GOLD! YesBoss VA was born a virtual assistant agency offering Online Business Management and Digital Marketing Implementation for Christian thought-leaders and influencers. Our clients cast the vision and we make it happen!

Has it been a smooth road?
The entrepreneur road is never smooth. It’s fun. But not smooth. The struggles I’ve had along the way include picking a niche, dealing with problem clients and building a team.

Each of my challenges has elevated my success. My philosophy is that I cannot make everyone happy, but I must conduct myself in a God honoring way. I want to be able to look back on how I acted in times of “failure” and be able to hold my head high. This approach has elevated our company’s reputation time and time again. I believe because our character shines in the difficulty. It’s taught me that there is greater opportunity for connection in times of difficulty than when sailing down a smooth road.

Our focus is on serving Christian thought leaders and influencers. They cast the vision and we make it happen! Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I love Scottsdale! There is a pride of ownership in this city that I’ve never seen before. You see evidence of this in everything from the meticulously maintained city streets to the tucked away gas stations and fast food establishments. (Anyone else notices that gas stations and fast food are always tucked away?!) Of course, the summer heat is what I like the least.
