Meet Kirsten Snyder of Ocotillo Contracting & Design

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kirsten Snyder.

Kirsten, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I have been a Realtor for 17 years. My husband worked in construction since High School. We started remodeling and flipping homes 15 years ago, and slowly started offering our remodel services to friends. We began remodeling for the public mainly for energy efficiency upgrades and a few years ago offered our full service remodel to the public. We hold a builder, remodel and specialty HVAC license.

Has it been a smooth road?
Owning your own business is around the clock endeavor. The main struggles have been finding work-life balance and holding boundaries for myself and my business.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Ocotillo Contracting & Design – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
We remodel homes! We do a lot of kitchens and bathrooms, but have added on new rooms and stripped homes to studs and rebuilt them. We don’t just do a lipstick remodel. A lot of our work isn’t even seen- behind the wall or underground. We are ensuring that the pretty stuff on the top is going to last. I also specialize in space planning and function. I am often rearranging walls and adding storage into older homes.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I love that Phoenix is a big small city. I always run into someone I know when I’m out and about. What I like the least is a hard one- but I will say I always vote for school bonds to get our kids and teachers better school funding.
