Today we’d like to introduce you to Kimberly Humphreys.

Kimberly Humphreys

Hi Kimberly, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I must go back to when I was a child. I grew up in a chaotic environment, and one day, in sheer frustration I asked the question, “What is Life all about? It can’t be we are born; we try to be happy, have children, and they do the same, and then we die.” I pondered that some greater Being or Entity had to create all of this (the world, including us), and surely, if they were smart enough to create all of this, they would know how to communicate their purpose, and our purpose to us. This query was partially quenched with my mother’s response when I asked her; she responded “Yes, there is a God, His name is Jesus, and He gave us the Bible, and the gist of it is ‘to treat others as we want to be treated.’” While that didn’t answer the question of our purpose, it pointed me to a resource, which I attempted to read for myself, but I couldn’t understand the Old English it was written in. Fast forward to my adult years, I spent 30+ years studying the bible to understand these questions in their fullness. For most of those years, I believed in the Christian teachings, as I studied through various denominations of Christianity. After a pilgrimage to Israel and a career change to become a Holistic Health Practitioner, I was exposed to the real answers I was looking for. Along the way, I experienced 2 difficult divorces; in the first one of twenty-one years, I bore and raised our children, and in the second, we were headed toward ministry. But there was something very wrong in our marriage, and I could not enter ministry in that state. I realized neither of my husbands was able to love me because I did not love myself, that is, unconditionally. After the second marriage, I noticed this pattern, and I told God that I would rather be single the rest of my life if I could not learn to love myself unconditionally to have a healthy marriage. I am thrilled to say I have now been in my third marriage for over 11 years, and it is the best relationship I have ever had. In my new endeavor of becoming a Holistic Health Practitioner, I was introduced to Ayurveda, which is the Science of Life. I fell in love with it. I met a fellow lover of Ayurveda, and we have been a team to help people physically, mentally, and emotionally. We also started a nonprofit where we can educate people about health from a Whole-Being approach. We are blessed to have our dear friend and Chef partner who is also trained in Ayurveda to educate our clients and patients in the nutrition and kitchen area. I have been honored to work with hundreds of people, helping them overcome emotional pain and experiences. They thought they could never overcome. It feels good to be able to help people in a deep and significant way, and it is only because of Love. Love, when understood, changes EVERYTHING!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road has not been smooth. The biggest challenge has been living with ADHD. ADHD has brought me through most of all I have studied. The next biggest struggle was in my first two marriages. Through the first twenty-one years of marriage, it was a daily struggle, when we finally divorced after 21 years, the children, now grown, said “Well, it’s about time.” As much as we ‘loved’ each other we could not agree or accept each other. We didn’t know about Unconditional self-acceptance, as I didn’t learn about it myself until after my second failed marriage. I truly felt like a failure after the demise of my second marriage. After those 23 years in unhealthy marriages and 5 years of being contently single, the last thing I wanted was to create another loveless marriage. I did the work! On my emotional healing through those five years. I experienced an intensive emotional healing process with some help from a dear friend. She believed I needed a husband, as we believed that she was preparing me for a ministry.  It was my heart’s desire. I still didn’t feel ready to date or ready for a serious relationship. In a series of experiences over a year, I had been prepared to meet my Mr. Wonderful. There were many struggles; those struggles were all inner. Though, initially, I thought they were with others, everywhere I turned, there I was, and the struggles were still there. During the five years that I was single, this reality became clearly apparent. And that is when I was able to begin addressing those inner struggles and making peace with them. When I met and married Mr. Wonderful, we both knew our struggles were from within, and that was the only place they could be resolved. We committed to support one another through our internal struggles. That commitment makes for the BEST relationships.

As you know, we’re big fans of HeartJoy Transformation. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about the brand?
The HEARTJOY brand is about Coaching people in Unconditional Self-Acceptance, and learning the purposes of their life experiences to heal the pain, trauma, and literally transform it into self-love. Through HeartJoy Transformation, I get to work with people who come to me discouraged, feeling defeated, all but hopeless, some even hopeless. We work together, and within weeks, sometimes even the first session, they feel like a new person. They didn’t think they could ever feel good again. Some, for the first time in many years. I feel honored when clients tell me they made more progress with me than they had in the 16 years of Therapy Alanon and Church put together. Or they don’t know how to describe their session with me, except miraculous! I know that the reason for the success in each session is due to the Spirit working through me. One key consistency in all I do is bathed in prayer and surrender to Spirit and Love. I genuinely love (unconditionally accept) everyone and want the best for them. I feel gifted to have learned and been certified in; Emotional Freedom Technique, Neuroliguistic Programming, Timeline Line Therapy, Hypnosis Therapy, as well as Ayurveda, Yoga, Ho’oponopono, The Emotional Code, and more. I use a unique combination of modalities with each client. No two sessions are the same, not even for the same client. Being Certified as a Holistic Health Coach has been instrumental in my foundation in coaching. I especially love to work with couples to help them resolve issues to keep them from the divorce court if possible, and if they so decide to divorce, they can do so amicably not blaming each other for their ills. It feels good to do what you know your life was purposed for.

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
I assumed the role of a peacemaker in my social circles, from child through adult. When I found myself amidst conflicts, my natural inclination was to take it upon myself to find resolutions. My conviction was that every challenge possessed a solution, a belief that seemed to emanate from deep within my heart. My intention was always to act in alignment with what I perceived as the right course of action, even though I didn’t always get it perfect. I operated on the basis of my limited knowledge at the time, as I believe many of us do. One aspect of my personality that drew criticism was my tendency to scrutinize everything. This analytical habit was almost instinctual, and I employed it in my quest to comprehend various situations. For instance, in those days when gossiping about friends was a common practice among kids, and to some extent, it still is today, I would diligently dissect the gossiper’s words and attempt to elucidate the motives behind the actions of the person being talked about. I firmly believed that the gossiper lacked a full understanding of the other person’s actions.
