Today we’d like to introduce you to Kimberly Ho.
Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
When I was in middle school, my cousin brought a Nikon D90 home from her photography class. After taking pictures with the camera, although they weren’t good, I had fun and wanted to take that class when I went into high school.
Please tell us about your art.
I take photos. Some of my photos are planned and some are not. What I mean by that is the photos I have taken outside are not planned as well as the ones inside because I normally walk around and find an interesting background for my images. Whereas, when I take photos inside, they’re planned because I already have an image in my head of the props, model, and background.
Choosing a creative or artistic path comes with many financial challenges. Any advice for those struggling to focus on their artwork due to financial concerns?
I think perseverance is important because the more you continue making art, the more your art begins to evolve overtime to something you’re proud of. If you’re concerned about your financial status, working a part-time job while pursuing your dreams is also a choice. In the long run, getting a part-time job will help because you can get more supplies.
How or where can people see your work? How can people support your work?
I have a photography page on Instagram and if you’d like please follow it and like the photos you like. I’m open to feedback because I want to get better, so don’t be afraid to comment or message me.
