Meet Khalil Santiago and Anton Orazem

Today we’d like to introduce you to Khalil Santiago and Anton Orazem.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Khalil and Anton. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
STORYTIME started while we were attending Arizona State University. We were taking a music class together and realized that we each had the same goals. After working on a few tracks together we decided to start an official project.12

It took a while to choose a name for the duo. Every time we make a song we image what it would be like to live in another world. What would you see? What sounds would you hear? We took those elements and wanted to tie them together to create a story. And that’s when the name clicked for us.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
We’ve both had our personal challenges with going to school, having a job and still making time to work our music without sacrificing our personal lives. It was way too much to maintain and we were always exhausted, but we were always moving in the right direction.

Tell us more about your work.
STORYTIME is much more than a music duo. We mainly produce and DJ dance music but we have other people on our team that are helping to build our actual brand. We are so grateful to the people that invest in what we’re doing. What excites us about STORYTIME is that we will continue to grow into something much larger than an artist.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Honest intentions are very important to us. It’s easy to let the music scene shape you into something you aren’t. It becomes a facade or a brand that you stand behind which becomes an extension of yourself. It’s important to not forget who you are and the intentions behind what you do every single day.
