Meet Kerry Bashi of Your Farm Foods in East Valley

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kerry Bashi.

Kerry, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Certified Health Coach, Kerry Bashi founded, Your Farm Foods in 2016 in Phoenix, Arizona when she wanted to spread awareness, guidance, and inspiration to people seeking wholesome food in efforts to live healthy. Your Farm Foods started by connecting consumers directly to farmers through events. We hosted and organized tours of farms, gardens, and healthy food workshops. We quickly grew to 2,000 members in Phoenix. Your Farm Foods launched the first of its kind, online local food marketplace in 2019 which delivers locally grown and made foods directly to people’s doors. During March, when COVID-19 came to the valley, we decided to offer free delivery to our community. Our community is now a span of 7,000 people here, in Phoenix. We are happy to serve our community with some of the freshest, most nutrient dense, healthiest foods, and delicious food obtainable in the Valley.

Has it been a smooth road?
The most difficult part of Your Farm Foods has been to meet our order requests in a timely manner. We network with over 60 vendors. We schedule each item to be harvested or made per order. Some farms are only available to harvest or make the food once or twice a week which gives our logistics a challenge. However, we are happy overcome those challenges and serve our community while supporting our small food businesses. We have put people and systems in place to improve our timeliness for our customers and we continue to do so.

Tell us more about the business.
Your Farm Foods specializes in getting people high quality food. We make it easy and convenient for people to buy locally grown food. Our marketplace allows people to select from hundreds of locally grown or made products that can fill up their kitchen. It is a one stop shop for all of their weekly food needs. It is a come as you need service. We do not offer any memberships or mandatory subscriptions. Customers can order once a week, once a month, or every day. Food is harvest or made per order and then delivered right to your home. It cannot get any fresher than this.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
I believe COVID 19 gave consumers a different perspective of our food system. I believe more people understand how frail it currently is and see more of need to buy locally. I think local food industry will continue to increase over the next 5-10 years. As well as, food delivery systems. We are excited to be a part of it.
