Today we’d like to introduce you to Kenna Shano.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I’ve always had a passion for planning events. I grew up with my family making a big deal about celebrations and ever since I was little I love to help plan and decorate any party we had. Before graduating college I had an internship in the wedding industry that led me to fall in love with this field of planning. I then decided a month before graduating college that I wanted to work for myself and be my own boss at the age of 21.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I am fortunate that both of my parents own their own businesses and have helped guide me in areas that I do not have much knowledge or experience in. However the harder you hustle the bigger the outcome is. I am always brainstorming new ideas and working even when playing. The one thing that I have realized is owning your own business definitely takes more time than I thought, but in the end is totally worth it.

McKenna Katherine Weddings specializes in making a couples wedding day stress free and unforgettable. We cater to everyone by offering three main packages full-service planning, partial planning, and day of coordination. We also cater to those who have different budgets and need a package created special for their needs and budget. We listen to our couples and see their vision through to the end making their wedding dreams come true. My favorite part about this industry is getting to work with clients that are celebrating the best days of their life, which is truly an honor to be a part of. What sets us apart from others is that we truly take the time to get to know our couples on a personal level and strive to give the best customer service for their special day.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I am planning on expanding my business by adding on more planners so we can accommodate more weddings each weekend. I never dreamed when I started this business that it would grow so quickly in just one year and I am over the moon excited for what’s to come.
